Ch. 8 Secret Santa

Mattheos POV:

So it started out as a great day. History of Magic wasn't that boring, I found out I aced a test, and now Im tutoring Aubrey. We were in the middle of Transifigurations when she said, "Stop." I paused. "Ohh what is it love." I say. "I-I-." I roll my eyes. "Spit it out." She looks at me. "Fine I have a boyfriend." I stopped. "What." She looks around sheepishly. "Um yeah." What is this feeling in my chest. It's like I care. "Ok." I try to play it off. "What?" she says. "You said you have a boyfriend, and I don't care." "Oh okay." And we go back to Transfigurations. Thing is i lied.
I lied real hard.

The whole friend group was talking and laughing at lunch the next day . So was I until some weird ass bitch from Hufflepuff came over. I looked him up and down. "I don't know if you know this but this is Slytherin." I say. "Oh I know," he said. "I just came to see my girlfriend." And he walked to Aubrey and kissed her on the cheek. My eyes widened. What the fuck. He walked away and Aubrey looked at me. "Why so tense Riddle?" I roll my eyes. "Nothing it's just a Hufflepuff? Really?" She nods. "Yeah he's sweet." Oh please. This bitch. "So I reckon your going to the yule ball with him." "Obviously he's my boyfriend. Why you wanted to take me?" I nod sarcastically. "Over my dead body. I was thinking of asking Astoria anyway." She looks away. "Oh okay."

Aubrey's POV:

What the fuck. Why do I care that he's going with Astoria. Besides I'm going with Cedric and I'm happy about it. For example the other day he brought me out to lunch and kissed me in front of everyone. But that's kinda a normal thing to do right? Eh, better than what Mattheo does. Anyways the best holiday was coming around the corner. The whole friend group is going to do secret santa later today. I'm so excited.

Okay it's time. Everyone goes into a circle. Pansy passes out tiny sheets of paper to them. We write down our name and three things we want for christmas. I put that I wanted a laptop, candy from honeydukes, and a surprise gift. Then we folded them up and put them in a hat. After everyone's paper was in the hat Theo would shake it so we all get a different persons list. Finally it was my turn and I put my hand in the hat. I pulled out the paper and looked at it extremely secretly. It said this,

Oh shit. Of course I got him. This ain't no fun this is hell. Besides he picked bad stuff. Who wants a free pass to hogsmeade? Anyways, I put it in my pocket and walk out with everyone else.

Almost immediately everybody began to run to Hogsmeade. So did I. I went to Honeydukes first cause that was the daisies place to get something. I bought the licorice wand and ran out of sight. I looked everywhere and finally found a place that sells pocketknives. I didn't know whether to get him green or black. I decided to go with my gut on black. I put the candy and knife into my little bag and set off somewhere else when Mattheo got in my way. "Who do you have princess?" He asked. "Not telling." I answer. "But why?" he whines. "It defeats the purpose of 'secret'." He rolls his eyes. "Please please please plea-." I cut him off. "Mattheo shut the hell up I'm trying to look for..." I trail off realizing I was about to give away who I had. Instead I flipped him off and went back to Hogwarts. I run to go see Professor Mcgonagall and ask for a Hogsmeade Pass. "Please Professor." She shakes her head. "Why do you need it?" "Because my friend group is doing secret santa and the person I got wanted the pass but your the only one who can give it to me." She closes her eyes for a moment before going, "Oh what the heck." and hands me a pass. "Thank you Professor!" I say while running down the hall. Can't wait for presents.

Mattheos POV:

Of course I got Aubrey. The heavens must hate me this year. Anyways, I got her a cauldron cake, and a fucking laptop. Why is she so expensive? I also got her a suprise gift, but that's a suprise. Anyways the next day we all sit in a circle to exchange gifts. I stare at Aubrey and she stares at me. Then Theo stands up and says, "Exchange!" Everyone starts running around trumping to give someone a gift and get a gift. Everyone except me and Aubrey. Ain't no way she got me. Aint no wa-. Then she begins to walk towards me. I stand up as well and wait. She gets closer and drops a bag in front of me. "You got your shit where is mine." I give her the cauldron cake and laptop. She smiles and goes sweetly, "What's the suprise gift?" I smirk and hand her a piece of paper. She unfolds it and reads it. Then the smile disappears. She looks up. "Your snap, really." I shrug. "What can I say, I'm just smooth like that." She smirks and pulls out her phone. No way. She begins to copy down my snapchat into her phone. "I added you." She says and then walks away.
