Chapter 8: Secrets Revealed!!

Chit explained her entire backstory again and then we told him everything we know.

"I know this is a lot to take in but–" Lain was underreacting but still shocked.

"I need to sit down and process this for a second" whatever happened to that cool, chill personality from earlier? After five minutes of silence Lain got up and I think he was ready to go along with this. Jade had an idea.

"This is all insane so let's give you some time to process it by just hanging out like normal teens." We all liked that idea and spent the rest of the day having fun in the lair.

"Are you all out of your minds?!" Chit screamed. "Whatever happened to helping me save the world?"

"The attackers have been here for five-hundred years; there is clearly no time limit." Oliver pointed out.

"Um, I just got dragged into this and my brother is going to find out about this place if I don't leave soon." Lain responded. We all had reasons to leave as well. Oliver had been talking with someone who could help him control his powers, Jade had a race to practice for, Kris– well he had therapy for all that bullying, and I was still very sore from yesterday.

I mainly just rested on Sunday so nothing really important happened until monday.

When I walked into the school I noticed a big sign hanging by the door but before I could read it–

"Nataly!" Of course Jake was there. "YOU ARE GOING TO REGRET WHAT HAPPENED ON FRIDAY! YOU B**CH" He jumped at me with extreme speed leaving me no time to move out of the way!

"Stop!" Oliver grabbed Jake and stopped him in his tracks. At Least for one second before all of Jake's momentum made them both fall over. "Don't try that again, I'll know!" I couldn't believe it.

"How did you–"

"I can see the future, remember."

"Thank you," I don't know why but for some reason my face was red at that moment, weird. Then we realized we were almost late for class! We said we would talk at lunch then went as fast as we could without getting in trouble and barely made it to our first period classes.

"Barely made it, was the hallway overcrowded again?" Mr. E the history teacher asked.

"Yeah, let's go with that." I responded as I went to my seat.

"Ok now that everyone is here I would like to introduce our new student," he announces, "everyone meet, Ion O'brien." "Ion, please say something about yourself."

"Hello, something you might want to know about me is that my great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great grandfather was the Flame Emperor" Ion explained. This was a BIG deal because Flame Emperor, formerly known as Volcid, was the leader of a team of superheroes that fought against the aliens back in 2022 when only 19% of the population had superpowers unlike now where its 99.999999999999999%

"Show us your superpower." some random kid yelled.

"I can't, fire could damage the building which makes it against the rules." Ion responded, his eyes red. After he took his seat Mr. E explained the team Flame Emperor led before he began the lesson about how the alien war started back in 2022.

"In November of 2011 several natural disasters and science experiments gone wrong resulted in 19% of the population getting superpowers, and a team of teens with elemental powers came together to save many lives, make peace with a different alien race from the attackers whose name was lost to history(after a war that one of them started!) and even fought off an Egyptian serpent with a vague curse, they were the greatest heroes the world had ever seen, until 2021 when they received a distress signal from the aliens they made peace with that the attackers were destroying their planet! They went to space to try and help but died with the knowledge of how to save the world! This one moment marked the beginning of the alien wars here on earth!" So that was how it happened. He continued, "After the attackers reached the planet they left nothing but death and destruction everywhere they went! Millions of people died and in a matter of days almost if not all of the people with superpowers at the time were gone and the 81% that were just like Nataly— wait no!"
