Chapter 53 - Moving Day

Moving day had arrived and El was in full El zone. With Christopher away at summer camp meant that Eddie had a lot of free time he wanted to keep filled so he was first to arrive at 8am. Soon followed Mikey, Maddie staying at home as she had a bad bout of morning sickness.

Once everyone had arrived at Bucks apartment it was time for El to set out the tasks for the day, "So, we need to go pick up the van I hired, go down to the storage unit and load up the van, then we can go to the house and start putting everything inside. I also have deliveries set for today so everything can be done and dusted" El spoke to the boys.

"What are we getting out of this?" Eddie asked in a cheeky manner.

"My friendship" She smirked, "There is beer and pizza and whatever else you guys want up for grabs"

"Sounds good" Mikey smiled, "So what first?"

El had sent Eddie and Buck to go get the van to meet them at the storage unit, leaving Mikey and El to pack her boxes at Bucks into the jeep. "So, are you going to tell me what's got you acting like this?" El asked.

Mikey looked over at her with a confused expression, "I don't have a clue what you're talking about."

"Don't be a bitch" El rolled her eyes handing him a box, "I know you Mikey, I can read you like a book"

Mikey took the box and shoved it into the jeep, "Maddie's pregnant." He didn't look her in the eyes yet, not sure how she'd react.

"I gathered that much" El picked up and box and headed for the door to take down to the jeep, "So what's the but?"

"There's a slight possibility that Chimney is the father." He muttered, finally turned to face her.

"Wait what?!" El stopped in her tracks, "Maddie slept with Chimney?! Why?"

Mikey held up his hands to keep El calm, "It was when we were broken up. The night before the attack on the dispatch centre." He shrugged, "I told her that we would figure it out. I'm not upset about it, it happened. I'm more pissed at Chim than anything."

"Me too" El scoffed, "Wait no, I'm pissed at her too" El sassed, "You know what, I don't even wanna think about if Buck did that" She shook her head, anger running through her veins as she carried on walking down to the jeep.

"I honestly thought there was some sort of bro code that people followed about sleeping with their friends' exes but I guess some people didn't get the memo." Mikey said, following behind El. "Buck wouldn't do that to you so don't worry and everything is fine with me and Maddie, we are finally at a good place."

"I would never had thought Maddie would have done that...was it just the once?" El asked, "Like a one night stand kind of vibe?"

"Yeah, it was a one and done. I really think that it was just a lapse of judgement." Mikey chuckled, "Nothing against Chim but I think that she just missed me and I did kind of act like a jerk to her when she stopped me outside of the hospital the night of Josh's attack."

"Yeah well I know you are prone to being a jerk" She laughed a little and put the last box in the jeep, "You got everything? We can head over to the house" She asked, "I can grab us coffee and donuts on the way?"

Mikey nodded, "Yeah, I got everything." He reached forward and rested his hand on El's shoulder, "And hey, please don't tell Buck yet. We've still got to figure out how to tell Chimney."

"Your secret is safe with me Mikey, you come first...always" She spoke and held out her pinky finger.

He held out his pinky finger and wrapped it around hers with a smile, "This is why I love you."
