They arrived on scene to a large mansion, not too far away from where El lived. The group walked towards the house and Bobby rang the doorbell. They all waited passionately, Bobby calling out "LAFD"
"Dispatch said the patient was unconscious." Buck looked at Bobby confused.
"They also said it was a smart home" Bobby rebutted, looking up at the camera, followed by everyone else.
Suddenly the door opened and an AI voice sounded, "Welcome, Los Angeles Fire Department"
"Am I the only one really creeped out right now?" Hen spoke.
"Nope" Everyone agreed before entering the house.
It took a slightly embarrassing amount of time for the team to locate the man in the large maze of a house however as soon as they did, Bobby sent Eddie, Buck and El down to get a gurney and an additional medkit. "Now, who would wanna live like this?" Eddie spoke as he and Buck pushed the gurney, El sat on it. "Cameras and microphones everywhere, not knowing who's watching or listening"
"I hate to break it to you Eddie but if you got a computer or a smartphone, smart TV, smart anything really then anyone can spy on you" Buck spoke with a smirk knowing this was something they could wind him up with.
"How do you think Alexa, or a google home works or even siri?" El smirked at Eddie, tossing a cheeky look at Buck.
"Now I'm thinking I shouldn't buy that fancy smart coffee maker I keep seeing commercials for" Eddie spoke with a perplexed look.
"Hello, Eddie" The AI sounded, "Here are some popular coffee makers. Would you like to hear the reviews?"
El sniggered to herself, Buck doing the same before whispering "Welcome to the future"

Things had gone well for Mikey since El basically kicked him up the ass and out of the house. Mikey of course wasn't annoyed at her, it was impossible for him to be, he loved her too much. Maddie invited Buck and El round as Buck insisted on baby proofing the place and Maddie wanted some help with organising the baby shower.
So the pair of course headed to Els' old apartment which had definitely had a positive remodel since she left, Maddie needed something to keep busy. El opened the door but quickly remembered what happened last time, "Hello!" She called out through the small crack in the door.
"What are you doing?" Buck asked.
"You don't wanna know" El shook her head.
Mikey soon came to the door and opened it fully, "You're safe" Mikey laughed.
"Glad to see you haven't got your cock out" El laughed and gave him a hug. Over El's shoulder Mikey locked eyes with Buck to see his complete and utter confusion.
"You don't wanna know" Mikey shook his head.
"She said the same thing," Buck pointed, still confused.
"We share a brain cell" They said in sync looking at him.
"Maddie!" Buck called out, "These two are freaking me out"
"I'm in the living room, Buck" Maddie called, prompting him to run off.
"So, you've been all radio silent on me, how's it all going?" El asked, nudging Mikey playfully.
"It's good...really good" Mikey nodded, "I just feel so bad I missed so much"
"Hey, you're here now, that's what counts" El encouraged.

"This thing looks like a death trap" Mikey shook his head as he stared at the instructions to the crib. "Wait...I think we mixed up the spacers with the supports."
