I woke up the next day to banging on my door, im not even going to pretend i remembered getting back to my house or how, but i was on my couch and the knocking was getting loud and impatient. When I swung open my door McMurray was there with a big smile.
"Sorry about last night, me and the miss got a little frisky if you know what i mean, but im here to introduce you to my buddy, it's just a 30 minute walk around to block, when i told you location was good and dandy i meant it, he's right out behind you 30 minutes-" i had to cut him off before he just continues til the sun goes down, i agreed and told him to give me 10 minutes to change.
On our walk I listened to McMurray go on and on and on about his friend, how he's a stand up guy, loyal to his friends, good with his choring and so on and so forth, i feel like i heard this guys while life story by the time we came to a property with a cute produce stand on the edge of the lain way. I was surprised when i saw Katy, Wayne, Dan, and Daryl sat in front of it, drinking a puppers and chatting amongst themselves
"Wayne how are you know?"
"Good and yo-"
"never better, I'd like to introduce you to my new friend Y/n, i think she's got that land you've been searching for." McMurray cut Wayne of mid sentence gesturing to me, i gave a small wave feeling really awkward with all attention on me now.
"We actually met." Wayne tells him standing from his chair, going to shake my hand again.
"Well how's this!" McMurray almost yelled, seeming upset he didn't get to introduce us.
"She was at Modeans last night." Katy says from behind Wayne.
"Gosh darn it i knew i shouldn't have taken Mrs. McMurray home to do the reverse side ways-" Katy was quick to cut McMurray off before he went into gross details on what him and his wife were up to when they left Modeans.
"So you got land?" she asked directing her question to me, but taking the chance to talk McMurray answers for me.
"Oh Yes she's got some beautiful land just behind your back woods there, isn't that just perfect, she's right there 30 minutes out." he rambled out, not letting me get a word out.
"sounds like a steal." Daryl says looking to Wayne.
"good enough." Wayne says standing from his lawn chair.
"we'll pitter patter, let's see this land of yers" Wayne says walking beside me and McMurray. taking the short but tedious as is just done it, walk back, McMurray was rambling on about random shit that I wasn't really listening to anymore. I don't think Wayne was either, giving as he only responded in short hums. by the time we made it back to my property McMurray was on the phone with his help in hands back at the farm. Something about the shits, and needing to cover for his worker, so it was just me showing Wayne the property.
"I got about 5 acres, leaving out my house cause ya know, need somewhere to lay my head at night, but the property goes straight out to the back bush there." I tell him as we walk threw the untended fields stepping threw the tall grass. He nodded and looked around, when we came to the woods he looked threw them giving another nod.
"how much you asking?" He asks me, crossing his arms
"not really asking, how much you offering, call it a liquidation sale." I say with a smile, he thought for a second, then gave me a number we could both agree on, shacking hands the deal was done.
"Well i can see my property line from here so im just gonna head back threw the woods, save myself 15 minutes." Wayne says giving me his farewells, I said my goodbyes as well, then headed to my home to make dinner. I threw on a sit com to watch while I eat and a drank a puppers with my meal.
After two hours of poorly executed jokes i got bored a decided to head to bed. tucking myself in and scrolling threw my phone for a while i let sleep consume me for the night.
