We got a table, pretty big table, I guess we were expecting others to join. Gail came to the table, rubbing up on Wayne while she explained to us that we got a free puppers for every three shots of gus'n'brew we bought, all proceeds went to her, and to Modeans, everyone benefited.
"Well Gailer we'll start off with 6 shots of Gus'n'brew and two puppers." wayne ordered for us. Just as she was about to head to the bar Daryl sat beside me with Dan across.
"Makes that 12 shots and 4 puppers Please and thank yous Miss Gailer." Dan orders for him a Daryl.
"Hows was your days Miss Y/n?" He asked as Gail finally made her way to get our drinks.
"Pretty slow, Im gonna be looking for work here soon, fill my days with something." I tell him
"Wells if yous really needs something, i'll ask around." He offers
"Ya me too!" Daryl pips in, I thank them both as Bonnie McMurray comes to the table with our drinks, just in time for Katy, she ordered her own, but went to the the bar with Bonnie to get her drinks there, saying she'd be right back.

When Katy finally sat down, one by one we all took our three shots, double tapping after each one as per tradition. Wayne opened my puppers for me, having a bottle opener in his shirt pocket. We were talking for a bit before the McMurrays joined our table, and they too joined our conversation, adding uncomfortably vivid details about their sex lives. Modeans got busier as the night continued, music bumping, the crowd dancing, everyone well passed shit faced. I wandered over to the bar and asked Gail for a puppers, she opened the bottle and handed it to me, but it was knocked from my hand behind the bar by some guy bumping into me, I turned to face him, honestly expecting an apology, but the creep just started hitting on me, saying the most unoriginal things i've ever heard.
"So you come by here often?" I just nodded slightly
"This is my first time, but i'll definitely come by more if the chicks here are as hot as you are." again just a small nod, Gail handed me a new beer and I sipped on it.
"So can I get your name?" He asked,
"Honestly, i'd rather not waste the breath, cause if im lucky i'll never have to talk to you after this." I don't know what came over me, maybe it was the liquor, or maybe I was finally sick of his gross persistence, I mean even the way he stood next to me was gross and suggestive. His face grew angry, he was probably drunker than I was, and he raised his fist above my head, ready to throw a punch, but before he moved his hand down to meet my face he was knocked out cold, in shock i looked to see who punched him, and saw Wayne standing there looking more pissed than i've ever seen anyone. Before I could ask if his hand was okay or thank him for stopping the guy from punching me,   some other prick came up and punched Wayne clean in the jaw, while he was recuperating from getting hit Daryl jumped right in his place and started fighting the asshole while Dan jumped in fighting anyone who tried to get at Daryl, Wayne joining right back in as well the guy who was hitting on me tried getting in and tried to punch Dan, but didn't get the chance because Mr McMurray was too now in the fight. Right before my eyes an entire bar fight broke out, few people were left on the side lines watching as the men fighting tore eachother up, ripping shirts, throwing dirty punches, I think i saw someone kick at some point. I felt guilt well up in my gut, I accidentally started a bar fight, maybe I just should've given the guy my name, then Wayne wouldn't have needed to step in and defend me.

When the brawl finally died down Wayne, Daryl, Dan, and McMurray and a few others I don't know well were left standing, Wayne had a grin on his face id never seen, he looked proud, the guys were now congratulating eachother on the fight. Katy came up to me and offered a shot, after tapping the glasses we followed the guys outside, most of them lighting a smoke with others waiting to bum a lighter. Everyone seemed so happy, like the fight didn't even happen, laughing at each others busted lips and bruised knuckles. Yet I still felt the guilt bubbling in my stomach like a rotten apple in a pot.
"Hey Y/n, I forgot, are you alright?" Daryl asked, bringing me into the conversation as he handed me his smoke pulling a new one out.
"Yeah Im okay, I wasn't in the fight." I tell him, letting out a forced chuckle.
"Yous sure Miss Y/n" Dan said, I nodded this time, taking a couple puffs of the smoke.
"Wes seens that jerk pushing ups on yous, even I coulds tells yous were uncomfortable." He tells me
"Not to mention raising a hand you, your not a man if you'd hit a woman." Daryl chimes in.
"Yeah, Im sorry, he asked my name and I wouldn't tell him."  I admit, looking at the ground as I finish off my cigarette.
"You don't have anything to be sorry for, If a man makes you uncomfortable then he's got no right to your kindness." Wayne finally spoke up, I couldn't help but glance at him, catching his eye, he seemed almost upset again.
"I ju-" Wayne cut me off
"You got nothing to be sorry for." He said again, firm and clear. I didn't know what to say, so I just looked to the ground. Everyone had dispersed, being driven home by their designated drivers, Bonnie McMurray again offered to drive us home.  When Dan got into the car he immediately laid down in the back seat, Daryl jumped in the front as quick as he could.
"Those bastards." I laughed, Wayne chuckled.
"Come on." he took my hand and helped me jump up into the bed of his truck, then after he hopped in he sat at the front closest to the seat part, I sat down next to him and laid one leg over the other. We took off and the truck jerked, Wayne noticed that I was a little uneasy I guess, because he pulled me in closer to him and put an arm around my shoulders, we jostled slightly as the truck drove the dirt road. but this time it didn't matter, I couldn't pay attention to anything but Wayne, his arm around me, our thighs touching, how the moonlight looked agains the skin of his hand that he'd placed on my thigh.

I looked up at Wayne and he was already looking at me, staring into my eyes, he had a small grin playing on his lips.
"What?" I asked, a little nervous under his gaze.
"It's not gentlemanly to do what I want to do when a lady is this intoxicated." He says, glancing up and down my face.
"What do you want to do?" I almost whispered, I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't hear me over the sound of the tires on the road.

He didn't answer with words, my breath caught in my throat as Wayne leaned in, gently placing  his lips on mine. My stomach fluttered and my mind spun, I didn't know what was happening to me but it wasn't bad. Once again I felt like I was floating.

The truck stopped in Wayne's driveway, he pulled away and had the same grin on his face he had after the fight, I couldn't help but let a chuckle out, definitely not forced this time. He hopped out of the truck and helped me down, before going into his house. I had a smile plastered across my face the rest of my drive home, this time actually in the truck.
