WEEKS LATER!!
Wayne had bought and owned the property by now, even had half a barn up, said he needs the building for storage, but Im not sure why he wants a storage shed this far from his barn, but I'm not one to question another's work ethic. While Wayne was out there with Dan and Daryl on a particularly hot day, I decided they could probably use a cold drink, so I poured out some lemonade into glasses, grabbed my cooler filling it with ice, I threw in a couple puppers for each of the men and started walking, they were working away from edge of the woods a bit so it didn't take me long before I had reached them.
"Thought you boys could use a drink to cool off." I called out as i finally walked up to them, holding the tray of lemonade out for them, they each took one thanking me respectfully.
"I also brought a couple beers for later." I tell them setting the cooler down.
"Yous are so nice Miss Y/n" Dan says sipping his lemonade.
"thank you Dan, but i've been watching you working hard out here for almost three weeks now, it's the least I can do." I tell them taking a gander at how much work they've gotten done.
"Yous keeps us hydrated and that's what's i appreciates abouts yous Y/n" Dan says, though i didn't really know what he meant
"Take about 20% off there super chief." Wayne tells him, Dan points at some birds in the distance and watches them for a minute.
"Well i guess I'll let you men get back to work, let me know when your finished for the day i'll drive us to Modeans." I say giving a wave and walking back to my house, going up to shower and change into something i hadn't been gardening and sweating into on this hot summer day. After an hour of sitting around there was a knock on my door, so i hopped up to answer it of course. It was Wayne, Dan, and Daryl, who was the only one who didn't change from choring. I led them to my Dads old pick up and we drove off to Modeans. As always the music was blaring and the drinks were flowing, I had been dancing with Dan when a slower song began playing, we decided to go get a drink while the couples in the bar had their moment.
"What can I get for you, you fine piece of work." Gail greets me back to my bar stool.
"I'll take a puppers please and thank you." I smile, finally unfazed by her flirty and sexual nature.
"And a round of Gus'n'brew there Gailer!" Wayne says coming up beside me. As gail poured I got a little nervous, hopefully not noticeably, but this was going to be my first shot and I wasn't sure I could even take a shot.
"What wrong Miss Y/n?" Dan asked from the other side of me. Fuck.
"Well I've um, never technically done a shot of Gus'n'brew." I tell the group who shared looks of shock and excitement. Dan immediately started helping hand them out being careful not to spill a drop of mine. As we took the shot and tapped our glasses, and everyone stared me down like a deer watching the truck plummet towards it.
"Not bad." I comment as a small cough came from my throat, the burn unfamiliar. Everyone chuckled and Katy ordered another round, I passed as i had to drive.
"Who's the sniper." I heard a new voice from behind me call out, and i could see Wayne physically cringe.
"Well if it isn't peat and repeat." Katy says turning in her stool, I turned to put a face to the voice, and was met with two hockey player looking dudes, I could tell cause they all look the same around here.
"So who the rocket?" the brown haired one asked pointing to me, I raised a brow a little offended that I was being talked about like im not even there.
"What's your name snipe." the blond one asks, I didn't really get the chance to answer however because these greasy guys dressed in black overalls pops up behind the hockey players.
"This lovely lady is Y/n, owner of old man L/n's land and his daughter, homeschooled her whole life." the one in the bolder hat says for me.
"And stalked by skids." I mumble under my breath turning back to the bar. Gail handed me a shot of Gus'n'brew, and I didn't deny this one, this situation made me extremely uncomfortable.
"Fuck off skid your making the girl uncomfortable." Wayne shouts
"What's wrong shirt tucker, jealous i have more knowledge on the lady than you, scared we might get close." The skid returns.
"Im pretty sures stalkings the young lady's isn't gonna get yous close to her." Dan says sarcastic and intimidating.
"You hicks are so BASIC!" The greasy haired skid walks away while the rest of the group turns to me, giving apologies for the behaviour of people they were aquatinted to. I shrugged it off, and after Bonnie McMurray insisted on taking my keys and driving the group home, I decided I wanted to get drunk and have fun.
