I had just settled into my science class when he made his way over to where I sat, which just so happened to be behind his best friend.

"Did you study for that test in engineering?" he called as the tall slim boy approached him. He seemed to walk slowly and deliberately past my desk, and then slapped my stack of textbooks onto the floor. The teacher looked up abruptly just as a bit of profane words began to form on my tongue. I stood, and began to scoop up books as he chuckled a bit and walked away. Kwame, on the other hand bent down, and laid a couple on my desktop wordlessly. I sighed and continued. Lab came and I grouped with none other than Mr. Zheng himself.

The lab required us to calculate the free fall of different objects, and Nate immediately began dribbling one of the soccer balls, which I noticed with annoyance, but left unaddressed. Just as I went to write down the measure for a plastic wiffle ball, something smacked me in the face so hard that my glasses nearly flew from my face.

My eyes were watering and my face was incredibly numb though my brain was pulsating in my skull rapidly. I could hear obnoxious laughter surrounding me, and my front teeth were aching. As I tried to touch the side of my face, I realized he had hit me with the flat soccer ball that was now lying on the floor sadly staring at me.

Nate was standing before me, grinning at Kwame, as he meticulously examined my shocked state. He then chortled and walked away. Presumably, he was going to go brag to his other group of friends across the room.

After the shock subsided, I angrily bounded over to the instructor to make her notice what had taken place. She acknowledged me as I tried to force myself to open my mouth.

"Nate just hit me in the face with a soccer ball," I murmured in a low voice, reprimanding myself for not snapping his neck.

"What?" she asked me.

"He just hit me in the face." I muttered.

"You sure that wasn't accidental?" Sure, a star soccer player couldn't effortlessly hit his mark.

"Yes, I am completely sure." At that moment, she called him over.

"Yes ma'am?" he cooed innocently as he walked over, giving me a quick glance of disdain. I was too busy trying to inspect my glasses, which bent awkwardly from the impact. My head was still ringing.

"Did you hit Wylan with the soccer ball?" she questioned him. His eyebrows rose slightly.

He's about to lie through his teeth.

"I might have, but I'm sure I apologize-" sure enough, he began to spin one.

"You didn't. You laughed in my face and walked away," I interrupted curtly.

"I think you owe Wylan an apology if that is true," she said to him, motioning to me as she walked away. He watched to make sure she was out of earshot, and quickly whispered in my ear.
