In the dead of night, a boy sprinted through the shadowed forest, his breath coming in ragged gasps. Behind him, the shouts of the scientists echoed through the trees. "Experiment 050, return immediately!" one of them barked, while another called for reinforcements. Desperation clawed at the boy as he searched for a hiding place. Spotting an old, abandoned house to his right, he slipped inside and found an empty box. Crawling into it, he peered through a small gap, his heart pounding as footsteps approached.

The female scientist peered around, her voice tinged with frustration. "Do you really think he's here?"

"Yes," the male scientist replied, his voice steady despite the tension.

The boy closed his eyes, hoping against hope that he wouldn’t be discovered. Just as the scientist reached for the box, a voice interrupted them. "What brings you here at this hour?"

The boy dared to open his eyes, seeing a man standing confidently behind the scientists. The male scientist’s face fell. "We’re searching for a lost child," he admitted.

The stranger’s gaze grew stern. "This is an adoption center. If you're hunting children for experiments, you need to leave."

The scientists exchanged nervous glances. "And what if we don't?" the female scientist challenged, her voice wavering.

"Then I'll call the police," the man said firmly, his resolve unshaken. Intimidated, the scientists reluctantly began to leave.

As they departed, the stranger’s eyes fell on the box. "You can come out now; they're gone."

Emerging from the box, the boy revealed himself. He had a horn, a dragonfish tail, and wings—a sight that shocked the men. "Is this the child they were after?" one of them wondered, his voice filled with pity.

"Thank you for saving me," the boy, now known as LucasV, said quietly.

"You're welcome," Xarko replied, gently patting LucasV’s head. "Tell us, what’s your story? And what’s your real name?"

The boy hesitated. "My name is LucasV, and I’m nine," he said, trying to sound confident. "My parents...they sent me to an asylum when they found out I could get pregnant."

Xarko’s expression softened. "My name is Xarko, and this is Louise." Louise, who had been silent, nodded in acknowledgment.

"May I stay here?" LucasV asked timidly.

"Of course," Xarko assured him. "You’re safe here."

Louise placed a comforting hand on LucasV’s head. "If anything happens, you can always come to us."

LucasV’s face brightened with a grateful smile. As Xarko carried him to a bed and covered him with a blanket, Louise went to prepare breakfast. The warmth and care they provided made LucasV’s new surroundings feel like home.

~No one’s point of view~

Seven years passed, and LucasV grew into a young man, his dreams blossoming into reality. He left the orphanage to pursue his ambitions and soon found himself in the limelight. Offers poured in—modeling, singing, and more. LucasV chose to accept only a select few, focusing on what truly inspired him.

At first, the excitement of fame and new experiences invigorated him. But as time wore on, the thrill began to fade. The constant attention, the endless proposals from admirers—both female and male—became overwhelming. The jealousy from his peers, envious of his success, turned into hostility. LucasV endured their barbs and snide remarks with stoic composure.
