~LucasV point of view~
I strolled through the village, feeling a warm happiness settle over me as I took in the sights. My eyes wandered to Darkley's Boarding School for Bad Boys, where Lloyd was. 'Should I wait for Lloyd in my room or right here in front of his school?' I wondered, pondering the choice.
With a subtle wave of my hand, I used my powers to quietly teleport the desserts I had picked to my room's fridge, ensuring they'd stay fresh. After a moment, I decided to stay here, in front of the school, and took in the sky as I waited.
'Only a few days left before winter ends' I mused, remembering how the storyline was supposed to go. 'I need to be careful...' The knowledge of this world's future weighed heavily on me. I already knew that my presence here would have some effect, but the last thing I wanted was to disrupt things too much.
Lost in my thoughts, I clenched my fists slightly, wondering how much of the story I should allow to unfold naturally.
The bell rang, and I looked over to see students filing out of Darkley's Boarding School. My eyes quickly found Lloyd, though he looked uncomfortable, scratching at his arms and neck as he walked. My stomach dropped with worry. 'This must be one of Brad's pranks-probably ants in his bed.' I thought, sighing internally.
As Lloyd passed through the gate, I called out to him. "Hey, Lloyd! How was school today?" He looked at me, surprised, clearly trying to keep from scratching, but his discomfort was obvious.
Before he could respond, I gently took his hand. "Come on," I said, leading him toward my motel. "W-wait, LucasV! What are you doing?" he stammered, glancing up at me in confusion.
I gave him a reassuring smile. "Well, I wanted to spend some time with you, and I brought some desserts from the restaurant I work at that I thought we could share." I saw him blush just slightly at this, though he tried to hide it. "And," I added with a small grin, "you could use some medicine."
"For what?" he asked, clearly puzzled.
I glanced back at him knowingly. "You got bitten by red ants, didn't you?"
He paused, a bit embarrassed, realizing what I meant. "I-I'll be fine," he insisted as we reached the motel and stepped into the elevator, heading up to my floor.
"Maybe, but I don't want my closest friend to suffer if I can help it." I turned to him, and with a playful smile, pinched both his cheeks gently. "So no trying to tough it out, okay? Just let me help you with this," I said softly.
His eyes softened, and he gave me a small nod, finally letting his guard down.
We reached my floor and walked down the hallway to my room. Still holding Lloyd's hand, I pulled out the key and unlocked the door. Once inside, I made sure to lock it, not wanting any unexpected visitors or interruptions.
"Alright, Lloyd. You can read your favorite comic while I get the bathtub ready," I said, pointing to the spot where I kept a stack of his favorite issues. His face lit up, and he nodded enthusiastically, already reaching for a comic.
I slipped into the bathroom, plugged the tub drain, and turned on the cold water. While it filled, I rummaged through the medicine cabinet for an anti-itch lotion. Finding it, I adjusted the faucet to add some hot water, testing with my hand until it was a comfortably warm, yet cool enough to soothe any bites. After that, I teleported a little baking soda into my hand and sprinkled it into the water. The mix would help calm his skin.
With the bath ready, I grabbed a clean towel, fresh underwear, and one of my spare shirts for him to wear afterward.
"Alright," I muttered, satisfied with the setup, "time to let Lloyd know."
Returning to the living room, I saw him fully engrossed in his comic but still scratching at his hand now and then. "Okay, Lloyd, time to take a bath," I called.
He looked up, setting his comic down, and nodded. Without a word, he headed for the bathroom, trusting I'd prepared everything he needed.
As he closed the bathroom door behind him, I sighed with a smile, glad to be able to help him even with the small things.
Lloyd and I took of our clothes than Lloyd slipped into the bathtub, letting out a content sigh as the cool water soothed his skin. I chuckled to myself and gathered up his clothes, tossing them into the washing machine along with my own. Adding some detergent, I closed the lid and started the wash cycle.
After pouring shampoo into my hand, I moved closer to him with a playful smirk, slowly reaching over to lather his hair. Lloyd jolted, eyes wide. "LucasV!!" he exclaimed in surprise.
I chuckled. "Relax! It's just a little fun," I teased, gently massaging his scalp. Lloyd soon relaxed, a small smile spreading across his face as he started to enjoy the head massage.
"Hey... LucasV," he murmured after a moment, his voice soft, "I'm really happy that you're here for me."
My heart warmed as I gave a gentle laugh. "Of course, Lloyd. Anytime."
Turning on the showerhead to rinse off, I washed myself, and we both finished up, refreshed and relaxed. We dried off and got dressed. Lloyd looked down at himself, noticing he was wearing one of my spare shirts.
"You know, I never realized how comfortable your clothes are," he said, a hint of surprise in his voice.
I grinned. "Glad you like it," I replied.
We headed over to the small table, where I carefully set down the treats: the Red Velvet cake and the strawberry and blueberry mochis. Lloyd's eyes lit up as he took in the sight of the desserts, and I couldn't help but smile, happy to share this moment with him.
"So, Lloyd, do you want to stay in my room tonight? Tomorrow's Saturday, so no school," I suggested, taking a bite of mochi.
Lloyd considered it for a moment, then nodded with a smile. "Sure, why not."
I grinned back, watching as he enjoyed his slice of Red Velvet cake. I glanced outside; the sky was darkening, signaling that nightfall was close. At that moment, I heard the faint hum of the washing machine finishing its cycle.
'Guess it's done,' I thought, heading over to the bathroom. I carefully took out our freshly washed clothes and made my way to the balcony, hanging each item on the clothesline. After finishing, I returned to find Lloyd had polished off his cake. Smiling, I reached over and playfully ruffled his hair.
"Aw! Come on, LucasV!" he groaned, though a smile crept onto his face.
We both burst into laughter, the sound filling the room and adding warmth to the moment. It felt good, like a real sense of companionship, and I was grateful to have moments like these.
We spent the evening chatting and reading a comic together, laughing at the funny parts and discussing our favorite characters. The hours passed, and I could feel myself getting sleepy as night fully settled in.
"I guess... we should rest now," I said, letting out a big yawn. Right after, Lloyd yawned too, which made me chuckle.
"Hey! It's not funny!" he protested, his cheeks reddening a bit.
"Sure-sure," I replied with a grin. We both got up and made our way to the bed.
"Share bed?" Lloyd asked, looking up at me with a questioning expression. I nodded, and we climbed into the bed, which was just the right size for both of us.
"Good night, LucasV," Lloyd whispered.
"Good night to you too, Lloyd," I replied softly, a smile on my face as I closed my eyes. Gradually, the warmth of the room and the comfort of the bed lulled us into a deep, peaceful sleep.
