20- The Final Stages and the Return Match

A/N- Hey Everyone, sorry for this late chapter. Things got a bit busy recently but I managed to produce something for you guys to read. I also want to say that this story will be ending in the next few chapters as I don't want to drag out the story too long.

5 days later

I was in the kitchen making myself some popcorn before I watch a movie. I need to remember not to put too much sunflower oil in otherwise the popcorn will be oily and soft. After I had put the kernels in and I was waiting for them to finish popping, I heard the front door click open. I looked at the time and see that it is about time mom returned from her date but I'm not leaving my popcorn otherwise it will burn. It didn't matter anyway because mom entered the kitchen with the biggest smile on her face.

"So, I take it the date went well then mom?"

Mom answered as she took out a glass. Most likely for water. "And why would you think that Adora?

"Well... let's see. You walked in with a big smile on your face, giggled and there is a faint outline of purple on your lips when I know you went out with red! So, I can assume that Light has a tinge of purple on her blue lipstick as well."

Mom blushed bright red and after she got her water, she looked away to avoid making eye contact with me.

"So, I was right. You two did kiss!!" I said as started to smile even more.

Mom nodded as she continued to look at the floor with a slightly embarrassed look.

"Well, you can tell me all about it while we sit on the sofa with a movie in the background!" I dragged mom to the sofa after I took out my popcorn and listened as she gave me every little detail about their date. I even got her to describe the kiss!

2 months later

"Thank you for making this appointment on time Ms. Greyskull. We have been very backed up this last month and people have been arriving late to their appointments so often many have been rescheduled. However, you didn't come to hear me rant about my problems. So, let's take a look at that leg."

Mom and I were at the hospital because I had an appointment about my leg. Finally, the two months of healing was over, I could finally use the leg again!

"There we go. I've taken the off the brace that we put on in you last visit 3 weeks ago. You should be able to use your leg again, but I recommend not putting too much strain on it. It was a bad break and it healed up very quickly, so to avoid any problems you will have to take it easy for the next month."

"Of course. My leg has almost fully recovered, I'm not going to do anything to jeopardise that. However, it will be sad that I will only play in the last 4 games and the final."

"I am sorry about that Ms. Greyskull but I'm afraid you must endure it for the next month." The nurse said as she looked up from checking my leg.

"I will be careful, I promise, plus I have my mom to make sure I am careful!"

"Ok, I have to go to another appointment, but I'll see you back here in a month. Bye!"

With that I got up and made sure I was properly balanced before I tried walking without the brace. I didn't do too badly, and I got used to it quickly. Mom and I headed home so I could hang out with Catra because she was coming over to have dinner and to spend time with me.

One month later...

"Welcome back Adora!"

"It's good to be back Yukari!" I was finally back and thanks to all the exercise and training, my muscles and stamina are still just as good as before. As I arrived at the training grounds, I noticed Yukari, so I caught up to her and we started walking together.
