No POV:

"Mama! Mama! Am I going to get my pet today??" A small Tsukasa yelled as he ran down the stairs and into the kitchen where his mother was standing.

"Of course honey, but you just have to be patient. Your guardian will come with time."
His mother tells him gently.

You see, when everyone comes of a certain age in this world, they get a guardian. Or a pet, as some like to call them. It could vary from a bunny, to a dragon. Although what some don't know is that, even though the dragons may appear as big and powerful, their power is what is considered some of an elf, or a small fairy. Whereas, with the smaller animals that seem cute and harmless, are the ones with  more power than you will expect.

The pet will vary on the person and their future. A dragon means you will live a sinful life and die in a way no one would ever want to go through. Same with other animals like a wolf or griffin. Smaller animals such as a cat, bunny or even a mouse, show a life of kindness and care. They will live a long and (mostly) sin free life.

Parents know this, but they don't tell their kids. It's a test of gratitude and love. If the child is grateful for a small animal, the animal will bring them luck and kindness. But if the child is ungrateful for a small animal, the animal inflicts as much suffering into the child's life as possible.

"Aww, okay." Tsukasa whines as he takes his seat at the dining table.

"Don't be so down, you'll get your pet soon enough. You know, I heard some can even turn human! If that happens with your pet, it means it has a lot of power!" His mothers tells him, trying to cheer him up.

"Uwaa! Really? I hope my pet can do that!" He exclaims as his mother sets his breakfast in front of him.

As if it was called, his mothers pet comes out from its bed upstairs.

It was a small bunny with fur as dark as midnight. Because of this, when his mother was younger, she had named it midnight.

"Aww! Hey midnight!" Tsukasa said as he put his dish in the sink (wow bros a fast eater). Said bunny hopped over to him and squeaked at his leg. He picked up the tiny rabbit and kissed the top of its head.

The rabbit squeaked and Tsukasa put it down. It ran away and hid under the table.

"Haaaa, I'm going back to sleep mama." Tsukasa tells his mother as he walks to his room.

- time skip -

Tsukasa POV:

I woke up with a warm and fluffy feeling on my stomach. I adjust my eyes to the light and look down. There was a massive fluffy cat on my stomach.

It was about two, maybe three, times to size of my head. It was also quite fluffy.

Said cat was a light violet colour with a small cyan stripe in the middle of its forehead. I almost squealed out of happiness.

I sat up and gently moved the cat down to my lap. I started patting its head and running my hands through its soft, and way too long, fur. It started purring loudly.

"Oh. My. Gosh!" I whispered quietly, not to disturb the cat. I get my phone and text my mother.

Mama💛
Me: Mama! Come here! Quick!!

Mama: okay honey just give me a minute. I'm
just taking down the washing.

I was so excited. I put my phone down and continue giving the cat pats and attention. Occasionally mumbling: 'awww your so cute!' Or 'I can't wait until mama sees you! Or Saki!'
