I didn't even know actual people looked that good. Like, really good. I was almost to my car when a hand touched my shoulder.
I turned around with my eyes closed and started wildly waving my arms, "STRANGER DANGER!" I shouted, whacking them on the shoulder.
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't mean to startle you," I heard him say (hey, here's your BFF B nudge nudge wink wink, hehe♥♥♥ [what are you, in middle school Tiffini?]), "it just seemed like you were looking for something in there and I-"
"Oh, pshh, me? Ahahaha," I laughed maniacally. "Looking for something? Yeah, just that, uh...thing?" I used my fingers to make the shape of a rectangle. "The, uh talkie one."
He turned his head and chuckled, revealing dimples on his cheeks. "Your phone? Does it happen to be an iPhone in a pizza case?" Maybe I should just lie so he doesn't know I'd have such a stupid phone case, I thought, or maybe someone else has the same case. I bend my head down an looked at the ground.
"Does it happen have the number for Pizza Hut written on the back too..." I asked quietly, practically a whisper. He turned the phone over and looked at the phones number scrawled on the back.
"Oh yeah, I guess so. I hadn't noticed that before," he replied. "I found in the middle of the parking lot when I was leaving so I thought I'd stick around in case the owner came back." I looked up to see him gently holding my phone out.
"Th...thanks..." I reached my arm out and carefully pulled it out of his hand. "I really ap-"
"Oh, wait. I'm so sorry, I've gotta get to work." He brushed his hand through his dark hair and smiled, eyes closed and dimples showing. "I waited out here with your phone so long I nearly forgot." I tried to move my lips to form a word but nothing came out. "It was worth it though. I'll see ya around." Then he ran off, and I was left with my heart beating. And stomach growling.
