Evie and Mal sit relaxing in their dorm, each lost in their craft as they wait for the end of lunch bell to ring. Evie is sewing together the dress she had been working on the past few days as Mal flicks through her spell book, studying the curses and hexes on the pages. The content silence is interrupted by the dorm door swinging open, Scarlet enters looking distant, her eyes glazed over as she closes the door behind her.
Both girls look up at her. She says nothing as she stares out into space, confusing the two girls when she doesn't greet them or throw herself on her bed like she usually does. "Hey, you okay?"
Evie asks, lifting herself from her seat, approaching her girlfriend cautiously as to not spook her. A hand on her shoulder wakes Scarlet from her daze, her eyes shifting back and forth from Mal and Evie. "Yeah, absolutely fine."
Brushing off Evie's hand and without a word, she walks to her side of the room, sitting down in the corner chair with her back turned. Neither of the girls believe the lie but know better than to push, instead Mal goes back to what she was doing while Evie stands in place still watching her as she secludes herself in her corner. Leaning slightly, she can't help but capture a glimpse of something shiny in Scarlet's hands, a silver, what appeared to be, necklace. Evie swears as she approaches she sees an odd pendant, one with jagged lines but it is quickly snatched out of sight by Scarlet, placing it in her pocket and clearing her throat before going to her homework left over from last period.
'What is she up to?'
