It's time to join my friends.

Silence engulfed him, silence became him. Blood trickled down from his nose as he looked up at the monstrous Colossal Titan.

Bertoldt Hoover.

Why?

The innocence he had once associated with his long, chiseled face and disheveled black hair was gone. In its place was angry, hard, cold-blooded murder. He used to radiate kindness, pure intentions to protect many, including Annie Leonhart.

Why?

He should have seen it sooner. He was too perfect, too shiny and bright to have not had a flaw. Too kind, too gentle.

And his flaw was Reiner. Reiner, the supposedly thick-headed blonde, stockily built, but compassionate, always putting others before himself.

The Armored Titan.

Connie and Jean are probably out there fighting at this minute, fighting Reiner, our traitor.

Connie would most definitely be fighting the hardest, fighting for his late love Sasha Blaus, who had been devoured by The Armored Titan a year before, her upper body the only thing left.

Armin could picture it clearly, he had been a bystander, watching Connie kneel over Sasha, taking her hand within his, kissing it repeatedly.

"NO! Sasha!" He screamed as she slowly faded out of consciousness. His Potato Girl.

"Sasha, no, no, you can't do this to me, you idiot!" He yelled. Armin placed a hand on Connie's shoulder, but he yanked it away, cradling Sasha's pale face in his hands. "NO! I LOVE YOU, SASHA, YOU CAN'T DO THIS!"

Sasha's eyelids had fluttered and a thin smile had appeared across her lips. She reached up, and then-

Her hand dropped, her chest heaving for the last time.

Potato Girl was dead, and Reiner had killed her.

Connie sobbed, his body convulsing weirdly as his shoulders jerked up and down. Reiner had conveniently evaporated out of sight, running off to find his confederates, Bertoldt and Ymir.

How could humanity come to this? Living in fear of these man-eating Titans, these cruel, hideous beasts?!

Armin had ran his hands through his sunny blonde hair, which definitely out of place in this disastrous, bloody and violent town. Certainly not bright and cheery in the least.

The image of Sasha's limp body and Connie wailing fueled him. Made him want to murder Bertoldt, murder Reiner, whoever was around!

He was beginning to sound like Eren Jaeger.

Ah, Eren.

The only thing left of the headstrong, raging, green-eyed boy was his necklace, the key which Armin clutched in his pale, bruised hands so angrily. The brunette Titan-shifter raced through Armin's mind, along with his raven-haired protector, Mikasa Ackermann. They would be avenged. No matter what.

The red scarf that had hung around Mikasa's neck so tenderly now hung around his, a tribute to the fallen warriors. No, they were more than warriors.

His comrades.

They had been best friends since childhood.

None of them had expected it to end like this. Eren and Mikasa dead, Armin the only survivor. Weak and alone.

"You're not weak, Armin," Eren would say. "You're our friend."

Mikasa had died in Eren's arms, brutally torn apart limb by limb by a random Titan. That was the horrible part about it.
