It was late in the evening as I was sat on the couch watching a movie with Jennie who'd been uncharacteristically silent all night. She said she wasn't feeling well but I couild ignore the possibility that she upset about something.
"Hey Jen, how's your headache?" I asked, lowering the volume of the movie for us to talk.
"It's fine." She stated, refusing to look at me.
"Jennie, what's wrong?" It wasn't the first time she'd been like this over the past few weeks but it seemed more prelonged this time.
"Nothing's wrong. Why does something have to be wrong?" She replied, cuddling with Kuma who was sat on her lap.
"You sure you're okay? We can watch something else if you want, I know this movie's kind of boring." I suggested but she just rolled her eyes.
"I don't care, why don't you ask Rosé or... maybe Jisoo to suggest a different movie."
"I can't..? They aren't here." I stated in confusion
"But you'd prefer it if one of them was." She coldly replied.
I paused the movie and sighed. "Okay, stop with the attitude and just tell me what's going on."
"I'm going to sleep. Goodnight." She stood up from the couch as stormed towards her room as Kuma trailed along behind her.
"You always do this!" I yelled back.
She spun around, crossing her arms and glaring at me. "Do what?
"You walk away and refuse to talk to me. I can't make things better if I don't know what's wrong." I sadly replied.
She glared at me but there was a hint of sadness that was deeper within her eyes. "I saw you with her in the library."
"Who?" I questioned again as she as she stomped her foot in annoyance.
"Jisoo!"
"Yeah... so what?"
"She's your ex, Lisa! Do you have any idea how it made me feel?" I shook my head as I thought back to earlier in the day at the library.
"We were just talking, she was actually asking me-"
Jennie turned around to walk away again, still clearly feeling irritated. "I don't want to know! It doesn't matter."
"But she was only-" I started but she quickly intervened.
"I'm going to sleep, goodnight."
"She wanted me to give an invitation to Rosé." I yelled as she stopped and turned towards me.
"What invitation?" She questioned in curiosity.
"A party she's going to and she could bring a guest. I told her I'd give Rosé the invitation since I practically see her everyday." Rosé was one of my best friend's who I often saw most mornings especially on the weekend.
"Well... why did it have to be you?" she muttered.
"Because she didn't know who else to ask. She's kind of nervous which is why she can't just give the invitation to Rosé herself."
Jennie didn't reply, staring at the floor sheepishly. After a few moments, she wandered back across to me and held my hand as she sighed.
"I'm sorry I overreacted." She replied quietly, still glancing at the floor.
"You didn't, this is actually pretty calm for you." I chuckled making her smile.
"Do you want to finish the movie?" I asked, giving her a cuddle as she nodded her head.
"Yeah, I'd like that." She replied and smiled widely, melting my heart as she always did.
