February 14, 8:07 pm.

Declan walked you up the stairs, a bright smile on his freckled face.

"-And, and then she slammed the tray on the floor and screamed 'I quit! You're all inbred jackasses!'!" He finished his story with a hearty laugh, explaining how the waitress before you quit.

You smiled up at him, a soft chuckle leaving your lips.

"She sounds like she was a character." You two hit the landing before your floor and he gave an enthusiastic nod.

"Oh!" His voice, heavy with an Irish accent echoed off the brick slightly, "She was. She works at a pub somewhere around here now."

When you had finished climbing the stairs your eyes were met with a familiar dark silhouette sorting through keys.

Simon.

Declan ignored him as he continued chatting all the way to your door, where you held up your finger and mouthed 'Be right back'.

You walked over to Simon, smiling at him.

"Need help?" He turned to you, eyes taking in your appearance. You were wearing a nice dress, it was a warm brown and he knew the name of the neckline only because he heard a few of the women in 141 talking about it, a cowl neck (or something similar), his eyes travelled down a little, there was a slit in the dress that went rather... High. You looked really... Nice.

Your perfume invaded his senses again.

Vanilla. It was muskier this time than it was when you were over at his apartment.

He looked over your shoulder.

His eyebrows knitted together for a split second at your companion. He was tall, not at tall as Simon, with curly dark brown hair and freckles. He waved awkwardly and turned to look at your apartment door. Waiting. Like an obedient dog.

"..." His eyes returned to you, his eyes being drawn into the glitter in your hair, it was softly applied but looked oddly nice. Classier than glitter should ever look. "I'm okay. He looks lost, go back to him."

You felt oddly hurt, the way he sounded.

"Oh. Okay. Nice to see you again, Simon." He watched as you turned and jogged back over to, what he assumed, was your date. You two disappeared into your apartment, and he just stared at where you two had been standing.

He felt... Weird. Like a pit was in his stomach.

If he could start a fire with his eyes he would have burned a hole in the floor outside of your apartment.

Why was he feeling this way? What's going on?

He took out his phone, he had to call MacTavish.
