I should be used to 'situations' by now, shouldn't I?

"Break apart if you don't want both your heads blown to bits!", I yelled, pointing my revolver at the two fighting gentlemen. Uriah and Amir immediately went over and separated the two. "What's going on?", I asked, still pointing my revolver at them.

I recognized one as Albert, one of the people who live in the Sanctuary, but the other was foreign to me.

"Miss Lavellan, I apologize for this.", Albert said, slightly bowing his head in a sign of respect.

"Speak, either of you. What's going on?"

"This hooligan here was harassing my wife and I wasn't just gonna sit n' watch. I'm sorry, miss." he spoke, still breathing heavily from the fight. I saw that his knuckles were red and the other guy had blood gushing out of his nose.

"Is that true?", I turned to the bloodied up on nudging my revolver toward him. He looked like he was on the brink of tears.

"Yes, ma'am.", he whispered, shutting his eyes as if to stop himself from crying.

"Scram. You're not welcome in here anymore. Iry, remember his face. If he dares to even come near the tavern, shoot him.", I said, lowering my revolver. Amir, who was holding the man, led him to the exit and practically threw him out. I turned to Albert. "Come with me.", I told him and he nodded, still held by Uriah as they both followed be to the office in the back of the tavern.

I closed the door behind the two and sighed before speaking. "What were you thinking?!", I yelled, putting my hand on my forehead. "He could have been an undercover knight! He might be! Do you know how much shit we will be in if he's a knight!? If he charges you with assault!? We're already on the kingdom's black list!", I rambled on. Uriah looked like he was on the verge of laughter while Albert glared at me with a stoic expression.

"Is there any damage?", I finally asked.

"No, miss. Just a bit o' blood on the floor.", Albert said.

"You'll ask Iry for a bucket of water and a mop and you'll clean it up, is that clear?", I asked and he nodded. "Is your wife okay?", I asked more gently.

"Yes, ma'am. She's alright.", Albert said and I nodded.

"You're free to go. Don't let anything like this happen again."

"I won't. Thank you, miss Lavellan.", he said, bowing his head and rushing out of the office. I sat down at the desk, putting my head in my head and cursing at the headache that was slowly starting to form.

"All good, boss?", Uriah asked, sounding like he was still on the brink of laughter, sitting down across from me.

"Just splendid.", I replied sarcastically.

"You really think that guy could've been an undercover knight?", he asked and I sighed.

"I don't know what to think anymore, but we can never be careful enough."

He got up from his seat. "I second that, boss. I'll leave you alone now.", he did as he said, shutting the door behind him and leaving me in the dark.

I entered my room to see Xavi asleep on my bed. I was glad he was asleep, because when we woke up this morning, he looked like he didn't sleep at all.

I closed the door and he jumped up at the slight sound, looking around the room completely disoriented.

"Easy, easy. It's just me.", I assured him and he sighed as he looked up at the ceiling.

His voice was raspy and deep as he spoke. "What was the situation downstairs?", he asked.
