I raced back through the dreary streets towards the inn, earning a couple of disgruntled looks from people I bumped into. However, I couldn't care less. All I could think about was the fact that every single person around me knew the taste of human flesh, how they were farming my companion and I for meat not unlike the pigs squealing at me as I ran past their forced enclosure.

I didn't stop until I was lurching up the stairs towards our room, having found no trace of Narcissa downstairs. I burst into the room, startling the other girl who was wrapped in nothing but a fluffy towel, using the other to dry her two toned hair.

"Jesus you scared me. What's got your knickers in a twist?" She questioned, eyes wide as she watched me hurry past.

"Get your stuff. We have to go. Now." I commanded, already throwing things haphazardly into my tatty old bag.

"What? What are you talking about? Y/n?" Narcissa laid a hand on my shoulder, having me spin around and face her as I panted. The distress was clear on my face and the other girl's brow furrowed in confusion, tilting her head slightly as she waited on an explanation to my erratic behavior.

"It's a long story but we have to leave and we have to leave now. We are in perilous danger." I tried to speak as calmly and eloquently as possible, talking with my hands as my anxiety grew.

"Y/n you need to calm down and tell me what's happening. Why are we in danger?" Narcissa rested both hands on my shoulders, the touch grounding me as dark eyes peered at me soothingly. I took in a deep yet shaky breath, gathering my thoughts.

"Mr. Snape told me a story about the village. These people are insane Narcissa. On All Hallows Eve we are to be sacrificed and eaten as a way to appease the Gods. This happens every year. That's why no one knows of this town and why their ways are so strange. Being who he is to me Mr. Snape warned me, told me we had to go as soon as possible." I tried to keep my explanation short and concise without rambling, the other girl's face contorting in various emotions as she listened to what I had to say.

"Wha- that can't be.." she shook her head, stepping back away from me.

"Narcissa please, trust me. We have to go!" I pleaded, teeth clenched together as I urged my companion to do as I asked.

Narcissa paused, finding my gaze and holding it for a long minuet. Finally, she slowly began to nod, accepting what I said as the truth.

"I trust you." She breathed, moving towards the bed to get dressed and get her things together without another word.

The both of us hurried about, throwing clothes and random necessities we had acquired into bulging bags. They were certainly quite a bit fuller than they had been the first time our lives had been stuffed into them nearly two months prior.

The canteen was filled and I had swiped a few cans of food items to stow away until we found a new food source. Last but certainly not least I secured my mother's wolf pelt to my bag, careful of the delicate fur as it brought me a renewed sense of comfort knowing the full story behind it.

It was fairly late by now and the dinner rush should've been over, allowing us to sneak out of the bar and out of the town without too much trouble. I grabbed Narcissa's hand, pulling her along behind me as we quietly crept down the old stairs and into the desolate bar.

Even being as it was after the main dinner rush the place was unnaturally quiet, even Chance nowhere to be found. Nonetheless, we had no time to contemplate the complications of that observation now and I took a quick look around to ensure the coast was clear before pulling the other girl towards the door, the pair of us slipping out into the equally silent streets.
