Poem #1 - [Childhood Friends]

I still remember those memories,

The memories of our childhood

We were always together, all four of us

From band practice to stargazing..

Every single day

felt special

because we four were one

Including you

I will never forget how much you mean to me,

Your cheerful smile always radiates like the sun

Despite that time in your life

Where it felt like nothing but pure darkness

Despite your illness, your weak body,

You still had hope -- You still had strength

There were many times that I wanted to hold you at an arm's length

And tell you it would be okay

You always smiled even though you were in pain,

and I definitely thought of you while the sky was gray with rain

I was the only one who was able to visit you while you were hurting

But that alone means a lot to me

You're a sweet girl with a cheerful smile and cheerful demeanor

Who had a big smile on her face and heaviness on her heart

I knew it wasn't easy to always keep smiling

Sometimes you looked like you were falling apart,

but you still held on

And look where you are now

You are a wonderful friend, and you are treasured

More than I'll ever be able to tell you.
