Poem #5 - [Cheerfulness]

It may be hard to stop smiling,
but I always try my best!
I know you said I'm really good at cheering people up,
and I say "Tee hee, thank you!"

There might be a deeper meaning to that, though
I'm rarely in a bad mood and all, but smiling really helped me through my dark times

When I was in the hospital,
all I felt was sadness
But I already knew that I had a lot on things going for me in my life,
still it was hard to always stay cheerful no matter what
You helped me keep the smile on my face
and you helped me stay sane and snapping from sadness
I was able to keep smiling and stay happy
since I still had you

Sometimes I really wanted to smile,
though I had tears streaming down my cheeks
Still, a lot of things gave me hope
Seeing my friends again -- You -- Seeing my brother

Yes, it was tough staying cheerful,
but you visiting me was a beacon of hope for me
You were my shining becon of light during my darkest times
That's why I'm able to radiate so much positivity,
because you made me shine with newfound hope and healing

You really are special to me,
because without you who knows where I'd be now?
You kept me uplifted in good spirits through it all
That's why I radiate so much cheerful energy

Because I never ran out of it, thanks to you
When I was about to break down, when I was nearly at my breaking point
You kept me and held me at an emotional arm's length
I'm very radiant with positivity
because you kept me away from permanent darkness

You made me and my heart shine
when it was on the brink of darkness and sorrow
I smile everyday, because of you
You always had a smile for me when I needed it
Now I can give back what you gave me
You're right, I do shine with a cheerful smile and cheerful demeanor,
but that's because of you and your light called hope.
