“Without further ado, it's time for us to get started!” Midnight said as the television behind her lit up, indicating that the festival had already started.
“U.A really doesn't believe in letting us catch a breath, huh?” Uraraka muttered.
“This is where you begin feeling the pain! the first fateful game of the festival!” Midnight said as a hologram appeared behind her. A few parts of the picture were then getting scrambled, randomly choosing the first event.
“What could it be?” She added as the fast random picker stopped, showing a tag with the words, obstacle race.
“Ta-da!” She exclaimed.
“So it's going to be an obstacle course...” Midoriya muttered as the hologram then changed into a chart of the different sections in the first years.
“All 11 classes will participate in this treacherous contest. The track is 4 kilometers around the outside of the stadium.” Midnight said, then flicked her torture whip upwards.
“I don't want to restrain anyone, at least in this stage.” She stated, and licked her lips, curling into a smirk. “As long as you don't leave the course, you're free to do whatever your heart desires.” She continued, making the crowd cheer louder.
“Now then, take your places, contestants!” She added.
The first-year students gathered around the exit for the obstacle course race. The three lights of green on top of the doorway disappeared, indicating that the race had finally begun.
“Begin!” She said as the students ran out of the stadium, they struggled and ended up bumping from person to person.
“And we're off to a racing start! How about some color commentary, Mummy Man, Pure Light. And where did Kaname go?” Present Mic exclaimed, facing the bandaged Aizawa as Yuki looked at him with an amused face while Kaname watched from the stands.
“He went to stands and he wants to watch from there. How did you get me and Yuki into this?” Aizawa said.
“What should we pay attention to in the early stages of the race?” Present Mic questioned.
“The doorway.” Aizawa replied in an unenthusiastic tone.
Back to the students, everyone was pushing each other, trying to get past the narrow doorway. Not wanting to take part in this, Akira with her usual stoic expression on her face used one of her abilities as blood came out of her back to resemble butterfly wings to get up on a much higher level than them. She was able to use it to her advantage and fly past the struggling students.
Once she exited, she settled back on the ground and continued to run. Shoto spotted her and refused to lose.
Using his ice quirk, he sent a mass of a giant gush of ice to stop the students on their path but fortunately for her, the ice was able to reach her too, making her fly to the right to dodge the ice and for Shoto to run and follow her.
“Showoff and apologies.” He said while turning the ground to ice.
Aoyama, Yaoyorozu, Kirishima, and Bakugo were the next ones that were able to release themselves from the ice. ‘Really, Shoto, you know that I have my abilities.’ Akira thought in the mindlink as Shoto sweatdrops on what he just did as he glanced at her, then back to what was in front.
“Nice trick, Todoroki.” Yaoyorozu yelled as she used her staff that she created to have an advantage.
“I won't let you get away so easily, you icy-hot bastard!” Bakugou exclaimed, using his explosions.
