(Shye's POV)
I was sat waiting for my blood transfusion with Alena. She offered to take me, so I could have an adult with me and I took it. I usually sat here and waited all by myself. It was nice to have someone here for me.
"Thank you for coming with me Alena." I said to her while we were sat waiting.
"Of course Shye, you are currently under our guardianship, so anything regarding your medical needs we will help with." she replied smiling at me, "By the way how did your cheer tryout go?" she asked and I realised I forgot to tell them.
"Well Jenna and Roh got in no problem they were so good." I told her smiling, "And surprisingly, I got on the team as well."
Alena gave me a small round of applause and I blushed.
"Well done little one! I knew you'd three would get in!"
"I didn't think I would. I've never really been a cheerleading girl, but I did it for my friends and it wasn't as awful as I thought," I replied.
"It's good to come out of your comfort zone sometimes Shye. You'll be able to find a new experience that you enjoy." I nodded in reply and then one of the nurses called my name.
"Shye Rucchi, please come through." she called.
"Do you want me to come in with you Shye?" Alena asked and I shook my head.
"I'll be alright, plus I'll be 2 hours or so, I can text or call you when I'm done." I told her getting up from my seat. I followed the nurse of into one of the offices and took a seat across from her. We got on with the usual questions: had I been eating well? Had I been exercising? Was I regularly taking my iron supplements? After I had answered all the questions,we moved to a room with a bed and she started prepping me for my transfusion. She went through the side effects as usual as I took my sweater off. I could have a fever, chills and even a rash. I'd most likely definitely have a bruise, but each time with the side effects is different for me. I sat up on the bed and she set up the needle in my arm. When I was little I used to have a mad phobia of needles (trypanophobia), so it was a struggle to get me to calm down for my transfusions. I laid back and she hooked up the bag of blood and then my tranfusion started. I didn't need as much as I have in the past because I've kept on top of it, so it would only take 2 hours.
