FOUR - "KANDAR..."
Danny didn't say another word about taking the book for almost the entire night.
He thought about it restlessly, the idea of reading it scratched at his brain, and his fingers itched to feel the caress of the pages; but still his body yearned for his lover more, and so instead of reading, he lay atop of his sheets, shirt missing and hands in her hair, thinking of only one thing; Which to choose.
"Are you okay?" Lyds suddenly asked, pressing chaste kisses to his neck. "You're quiet."
"We're kissing." He shot back, "I'm tryna' focus on you."
"No. Normally you're more-"
"More what?"
"Vocal."
"Vocal?"
"Yeah..." She pulled away, "Look, I know when something's on your mind Dan."
"I'm good, let's just keep going." He pulled at her shirt, wanting it gone.
"Danny! Listen to me."
"What L?" He sighed
"I'm gonna ask you this and I'm only gonna ask once, so I need you to be honest."
"Fine. Talk to me."
"Did you take that book?"
"What book?"
"Don't play stupid." Lyds flicked his nose in playful spite. "I asked you a question."
"Fine... I took it."
"Why?"
"I told you, my mom needs the money right now."
"Do you even know if it's worth anything?"
"Not yet."
"Up." L fleed his body, patting him on the chest before she moved for his backpack.
"What?"
"Get up." She spoke again
"I thought you said you didn't like any of this."
The blonde was quick to move for his computer chair, seating himself as his curiosity caught the better of him.
"It's for you." She shrugged simply. "And your family."
