GEORGE'S POV:
—Two days ago, I received a phone call from Nick, who told me that he had bought a ticket to Florida for me. He made it clear that he won't take no for an answer.
I cancelled all my plans for the next week and packed. I sat down on the plane and now I'm here, in Florida.
As I listen to Nick and Clay talking in the living room, the sound of Clay's voice triggers a rapid heartbeat within me. A knot forms in my stomach, and an uncontrollable shaking overtakes my entire body.
I'm sitting at the kitchen island, scrolling through Twitter and eating pistachios. I want to look like I blend in when Clay walks in.
In an instant, I can feel his presence, and my body warms up. Without turning around, I wait for his next move.
"George?" he utters, his voice filled with an adorable charm that instantly brings a smile to my face. Unable to resist, I turn towards him, meeting his gaze.
"Clay!" I exclaim, his smile widening even more when I stand up. We lock eyes, and in that moment, everything else fades away. The connection between us feels electric, and I can't help but feel a surge of happiness.
In a rush of excitement, we both rush towards each other, wrapping our arms around one another in a tight embrace. I savor his familiar scent, realizing how much I've longed for it. As we hug, I'm reminded of his height, feeling as if I'm being completely engulfed in his arms.
He squeezes me tightly, and I return an equally strong embrace. In that moment, I feel an overwhelming desire to never let go, wanting to hold onto him forever.
"Alright, lovebirds. I'm heading over to Karl's place, so you can have the house to yourselves. I'll be back in two days," Nick announces, but I can't see him as my face is buried in Clay's shirt, enjoying the comforting embrace.
I sense Clay nodding in return, silently communicating with Nick before he leaves, leaving us alone in the house.
As we gradually release our embrace, I lift my gaze, meeting his beautiful green eyes. A warm smile spreads across his face before he leans down, closing the distance between us, and our lips meet in a tender and long-awaited kiss.
As our lips connect, sensation washes over me, as if I've stepped into a movie scene. In that magical moment, all my worries and concerns disappear, leaving me consumed by pure happiness. Grateful to be right here, right now, I cherish every second of this moment.
Eventually, we make our way upstairs to Clay's bedroom, where I leave my suitcases. He kindly insists that I sleep in his room, making me feel comfortable in his space.
As Clay places my backpack on the ground, his stomach lets out a faint growl, signaling his hunger.
"When did you last eat?" I ask him, noticing that he's distracted. He smiles back at me, but it seems like my question hasn't quite registered in his mind.
"You're so beautiful, Georgie," he says, stepping closer and embracing me once more. "I can't believe you're finally here," he adds, expressing his disbelief and joy.
A wide smile spreads across my face. In this moment, I realize that he makes all the plans I canceled completely worth it.
"I'm sorry for not responding in the past two days," I explain, my voice slightly muffled by his shirt as I speak. "I've been busy packing and canceling my plans. I also wanted to keep me coming here a secret, so I didn't want to spoil anything."
"It's okay," he whispers softly, causing my stomach to do about fifty turns. "I forgot about everything the moment I saw you in the kitchen." As if on cue, his stomach grumbles again.
