Chapter 13: JEALOUSY

I watched as Angelica and Jarelle walked hand in hand across the university campus, their laughter echoing through the air. The feeling of jealousy shot through me as I stood there, feeling left out and invisible. It seemed like every time I tried to talk to Jarelle, Angelica was always there, stealing his attention away from me. The closer they became, the more I felt like an outsider in my own relationship.

Julyza and Rein, my best friends, noticed my troubled expression as we sat in the university cafeteria. They exchanged concerned glances before Julyza spoke up.

"Alianna, are you okay? You've been distant lately."

I sighed, feeling the weight of my emotions bearing down on me.

"I don't know, Julyza. Ever since Angelica entered the picture, things have changed between Jarelle and me. I can't help but feel jealous and insecure."

Rein placed a comforting hand on mine.

"It's natural to feel that way, especially when your partner spends so much time with their ex. Have you talked to Jarelle about how you're feeling?"

I nodded, my gaze fixed on the table.

"I did, but he assured me that he only sees Angelica as a friend now. He said he loves me and wants to be with me. But every time I see them together, I can't help but doubt his words."

Julyza leaned closer, her voice filled with empathy.

"You need to trust him, Alianna. Relationships are built on trust, and if you let jealousy consume you, it'll only push Jarelle away."

Rein chimed in, his voice soothing.

"And remember, you have your own strengths and qualities that make you special. Don't compare yourself to Angelica or anyone else. Jarelle chose you for a reason."

I sighed and looked away.

Even though my best friends somehow made me feel better, I still couldn't help but feel jealous.

"What if you confront Jarelle about that? You have the right to do so and you can't just take it personally." Julyza said.

I looked at Julyza and frowned.

"But I can't."

Rein looked at us happily.

"Ah I know, let's go to 7/11 and buy ice cream. My treat, Game??"

"GAMEE!" Julyza and I immediately answered.

The three of us started walking to 7/11, while we were walking I still couldn't help but overthink because of Jarelle and Angelica's closeness. I feel that my boyfriend is already falling in love with that girl.

And finally we arrived at 7/11.

"We're here, hey alianna you seem to be deep in your thoughts, is it still about Jarelle and angelica?"

Because of thinking too much, I didn't hear what rein said.

"h-huh? What is it Rein?"

"I said, are you thinking about Jarelle and Angelica again?" He replied.

I bow down.

"Uh, yeah." I answered modestly.

"Just trust Jarelle, don't let your jealousy prevail in your relationship."

"C'mom guys let's buy ice cream!" Shouted Julyza.

We bought ice cream and paid for it at the cashier. While I opened the top of the cone, I noticed the pick up line on the top and I read it silently.
