Meet Me Halfway

Chapter 9: THE 1

Something has been bothering me for the past few days, something that I cannot explain. Having this kind of situation doesn't allow me to sleep peacefully at night. I tried to talk to my friends but I couldn't say a word. "Does this mean my heart was fulfilled by Zandro not Jarelle?"

I guess It Is What It Is.

This kind of feeling towards Zandro makes me a bit uncomfortable when I'm around Jarelle. He is indeed perfect, but I can't dictate love, but I trust.

This bit of awkwardness makes me feel anxious knowing that Zandro and I had a past, but unfortunately, he still remains in my heart. I must admit that Zandro and Jarelle have a tad bit of similarities but Jarelle is much more different to Zandro. Jarelle can handle all of my personalities.

But if this thing causes any tragedy, It's better for me to stop it.

I sighed deeply and decided to sleep early.

The next day, our professor announced that we don't have classes because they will be having a general cleaning in our school. I still need to go to school to meet my missing requirements. I didn't know that Jarelle was also there to grab his card. He even greeted all of our teachers and even the guards. He is so happy right now like he won a lottery.

I asked him "Why are you so happy, you looked like you won a lottery or something."

"Nothing, the presence of you makes me happy" I have no words. I was thrilled.

"Alianna, um do you need help? Do you want me to come over to your house?" He added. Since I still have a lot of work to do I decided to say yes.

We eventually went home quickly as we didn't have much to do in the school besides doing some of the activities that I missed.

"It's been a while since I've been to your house, I can still remember when I confessed to you here." Jarelle said while feeling nostalgic

"That wasn't even that long ago and besides, you can come here anytime you like so don't be shy, just tell me when you're coming so I'll be prepared." I replied

I wasn't prepared for his sudden appearance at school, I wanted to have a bit of time to think this through but when I saw him, I became fearful because I'm still doubtful about my feelings. Did I just use Jarelle to forget about Zandro? I don't want to be thinking that, which is why I decided to let him come with me to my home so that we could spend time together and do some work.

Time passed by and I already finished my work. I decided to make a snack. I cooked one of my favorite foods which is pasta. We enjoyed it and spent time together. Tomorrow, as always, I woke up early since I still have plenty of time. I decided to make a sandwich for me and Jarelle. After I made a sandwich I went to school to look for a book to read in the library.

When I entered school, I quickly went to the library. After looking for a book I sat down. Someone covered my eyes from the back, it was Jarelle. He sat beside me and gave me my favorite drink, matcha.  But before I could grab my drink, Naya suddenly grabbed it and threw it in the trash can.  I decided to just leave and not say a word .

"What's your problem Naya?!, we aren't even doing anything, you have a choice to not be rude but instead you're doing mean things, I'll be having a word with the city mayor after this." Jarelle angrily said to Naya

Jarelle then rushed by my side and tried to comfort me.

"Ali, are you ok?" Jarelle asked me

"I'm fine,it's just that I'm stressed about a lot of things right now, I've been thinking about many problems in my life right now so I'm just trying to calm myself down by reading some books." I said in a monotone voice.
