I'm Alianna, a College Student at the University of the Philippines under the course of Business and Accountancy, Second Year. I know you all know that College life isn't that easy, and that's right. But it is part of the process, we can't do anything but we have a choice between "take the risk or lose the chance"— THIS MANTRA! (shout)
At the Campus Hallway…
"Alianna, Alianna… Here sis". "Julyza, Rein!"
They are my best friends, Julyza and Rein. Julyza was my friend when I started my College Life and Rein used to be my dorm mate, and I can say that they are so great and generous, clearly both are my partners-in-crime.
"Where have you been, we've been waiting for you for so long," Rein asked.
"Im at the library, Professor just asked me to do something urgently" I replied
"What was that for? Ah, I guess it's for the upcoming Quiz Bee again, right? Are you sure of joining that competition? Isn't it very hard for you?"
"I have no choice but to join this contest, I need the money to pay my tuition and for my school
expenses", I answered.
"But how about Naya, you’re mortal enemy. I heard she will also join that contest? Aren't you afraid?"
Naya is the mean girl in the whole University. She is very rude to everyone she meets. It is because she is the daughter of the City Mayor.
"Don't worry about her, she is just doing it for clout".
"I guess so. But don't worry, me and Julyza will help you on your review journey so it could be easy to you and also, you know, bonding. SLAY!"
"SLAY! I agree. It's not just your journey, it's our journey, too." Julyza replied
"Aww, thank you but you don't need to. I know you are both busy with your own lives, don't mind me. But, thank you."
Maybe I could say they are the sweetest in sweet, isn't it? They are the only ones I recognize as my family right now, because I didn't experience the love of a mother, and I only feel that the way my friends love me and take care of me. I was born in the province during the summer, I have a little brother named Jashfer, he got my family's height genes, which I unfortunately did not inherit.
We were raised in a lower class household, our father worked 3 jobs just to provide proper living conditions and an allowance for school just for us, while our mother is overseas working as a caretaker for old people.
We were taught by our father to not take everything for granted so me and my brother always tried to give something back to those who have helped us before.
As I was saying, my friends are the best. After we were talking, we were walking together to our homes when suddenly, we encountered Naya in a nearby shop carrying fancy bags and smelling like expensive perfume.
"What are you three lowlifes doing here? This place can't be defiled by the likes of you people." Naya said while looking disgusted.
"We were just passing through the area, we didn't want any trouble." Rein answered
"Well then walk faster! You're blocking the way to my car."
"Sorry, we won't take long." Rein says
I had no words to say, I was speechless, I didn't know her rudeness extended outside the school.
"Is she really that unaware of her surroundings?" I asked Julyza
"Yeah, she doesn't even think about what people will hear when she's bad mouthing others." Julyza answered
