Lena sat on her own bed cross legged as Bella dug through her closet, trying to find something to wear for graduation. Bella had already gone through her own closet and came up with nothing. "I like that baby blue dress. That would look nice on you." Lena offered, receiving a glare. "You know I don't do dresses Lena." Bella continued to dig. Lena was wearing a tight fit white dress under the ugly gold robe with a pair of strappy pink heels. She sighed and leaned back against the wall and waited for Bella to put something on. She was startled at window suddenly opening to Alice with a garment bag. "I figured you would need something to wear. It's blue because I know that's Edward's favorite on you." She gave Bella the bag that contained a sweater and skirt. Lena dug into her shoe trunk and gave Bella a matching pair of flats knowing she wouldn't do well with heels. "Well at least this makes up for your annoying thief. Now I'll just have to see what I'm missing in Seattle." Alice tutted at herself and Lena froze at the comparison. Suddenly it all made sense. "Our thief had a purpose. He stole Bella and i's scent for newborns in Seattle so they could track us down. This has to be Victoria. She's the only one who wants us both dead for killing her mate." Lena spoke quietly. Alice froze for a long time before her face broke into one of abject horror. "You're right. Of course you're right." Alice grimaced. "Well at least we know no one is trying to exterminate the Cullens, just us." Bella interjected. "That does not change one thing. If someone wants any of us then they're going to have to go through the rest of us." Alice sneered through her teeth.
Alice had to go as Edward was coming and he couldn't know this yet. Not before graduation. He'd go bezerk. Lena and Bella met Charlie and Edward at the bottom of the steps. They made their way to the graduation ceremony in silence. Lena was too nervous to speak which could be played off as graduation day jitters.
Everything was moving so fast. One minute Lena was standing with Bella and the next thing she knew she was crossing the stage to receive her diploma. She heard Embry hooting loudly along with Jacob and Billy which made her blush.
And just like that she was a high school graduate. By the time she had found Bella she had already told Edward of her epiphany and he seemed to be made of stone. Charlie approached them and threw his arms around Bella and then Lena. "Congratulations kids. I'm so proud of you both. Your mothers would be so proud." A sad smile crossed Lena's features at the mention of her mother. Her hand absentmindedly went to her locket and rub charm. "Where do you wanna go for dinner? How about the lodge?" He asked. The lodge would more than likely be packed as it was the only "formal" dining option in forks and was a popular choice for events.
Bella and Lena made it through dinner without eating much. To many nerves. But Charlie was in his prime, talking to the Crowley's over the booth.
Time seemed to move slow as Charlie finished his meal, paid, and drove the girls out to the Cullen house. Alice had indeed gone overboard for the celebration. Every other tree going up the drive was lit up with twinkling lights. "Sure you don't wanna come in dad?" Bella asked as he slowed the cruiser to a stop. "Very sure. You kids have fun. You've earned it." Lena stepped out and sighed as Charlie drove off. She didn't feel much like celebrating with the impending doom handing over their heads.
