The inside of the Cullen house was done up like a nightclub. Alice had even gone as far as to hang a disco ball. "What happened to not going overboard Alice?" Lena huffed. "What? I didn't." Alice defended herself. Caroline hopped down from the ladder she was using to hang some lights. "This is tame compared to what she actually had in mind. I talked her down from getting circus performers." Caroline wrapped an arm around her girlfriend. Lena wasn't sure whether to believe her or not though decided it wasn't out of the question for Alice to do something like that. "Maybe no one will come." Bella hoped out loud. "Of course they'll come. They'll want to see the inside of the reclusive Cullens house." Edward squashed any hope. And just as it was the doorbell rang and in flooded many high school graduates. Soon the room was full of people dancing. The party was very clearly a hit. Alice had outdone herself again.
The door bell rang almost an hour after the last time. Lena opened the door to Jacob, Quil and Embry. She was shocked to see them there. "Hey Lena." Embry wrapped her up in his arms and spun her around. "How does it feel to be a high school graduate?" He asked as he placed her back on her feet. "I feel the same as I did yesterday. Still waiting to hear from Cornell, Columbia, and Yale." Lena told him. Jacob disappeared with Bella and Quil stayed in the doorway looking frightened. Embry on the other hand frowned. "I keep forgetting you're gonna leave. I'm proud of you, don't get me wrong, but I'm gonna miss you." A slow song came on and Embry pulled Lena to him by her waist. "Dance with me?" He asked giving her puppy dog eyes. "Fine but just this once and don't get any ideas." She warned. Lena let Embry sway with her in his arms but her eyes searched for Jasper. Oddly enough she didn't see any of the Cullens around. That was odd. She wondered if something had happened. Embry pulled her from her thoughts. "What's on your mind? I can feel you about a hundred miles away." Lena sighed. "Long story short? An army of newborn vampires is coming to kill Bella and I." Embry tensed with a wicked frown crossing his usual smiling face. "Not if we have anything to do with it." He declared.
Apparently Jacob had come to the same conclusion which put everyone at ease except for Bella. She didn't want the wolves to fight alongside her family. She feared they would be to eager and get themselves killed. After the party was over Edward took Bella home while Lena stayed back in order to get a head start on training. Lena had gone with Caroline to change out of her white dress and heels, exchanging them for a plain t shirt, jeans, and hiking boots. She pulled her hair up into a high ponytail as she looked at herself in the mirror. Her nerves were still unsteady even though everyone else had relaxed. They could still lose someone. There were twenty young vampires that were stronger than the rest of them. Things could go wrong still.
