Luna's pov (i have literally never seen this before whaaaat?!?!) :

Mario kart- which ended up being streamed on Tubbo's account- lasted for about 23 minutes before creating an outrage, which I'm surprised it even lasted that long with this lot.

"I hate you all- endearingly-"

"Toms, how exactly does one hate someone endearingly?" I question him, smirking to hold back my laughter.

"Consider our brotherly bond as an example," he responds while putting me in a light chokehold.

"Tom, for the ever loving-" My ringtone halts my struggling. "One sec, guys."

Tom lets me go and goes back to goofing off with the other two. A familiar number dances across the top of the screen, making it fall out of my hand and shattering the light-hearted banter of my friends. The line rings a few more times before falling silent. I take a deep breath before picking it back up, composing myself. They don't know yet, I have to remind myself. Plus, there's like 45k people watching.

Ranboo's the one that breaks the silence first. "Everything alright, Moonsy?"

"Yeah, I'm alright! Just slipped, sorry guys. I think it was Vicky, they must've hung up already," I lie shakily. "I think I'm gonna go check on her. Y'all can go back to the game, though, if you want."

"Y'all can go back to the game," Tommy mocks me. "Be careful, your valley girl's showing."

"Tommy, you've never met a valley girl." Ranboo laughs at the interaction but Tubbo seems slightly confused, although I'm assuming it's just for a bit.

"Guys, what's a valley girl?" he says, which sends Ran farther into hysterics. While Tommy goes into a full blown explanation of "valley girls", I'm able to slip out as I wave "good bye" to the stream.

Walking into my flat is what cues the panicking. My shallow breathing decreases to hollow inhales, but relief seeps into my laughable attempts at breathing when I reach Vix's room. Choked laughter forces its way out when I recognize the familiar dialogue of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows: Part 1. She looks up at me, their glossy eyes matching mine but filling with more sadness as a revelation sinks in.

"Have they got Hedwig, yet?" I sniffle.

"Yeah, they did," they sniffle back. Unprovoked, they pull back the comforter so I can lay down too. Remind me never to let her leave.

I curl up into a ball next to her, letting them put their arms around me. She takes the hair tie off my wrist and pulls my hair out of my face. The realization they've slipped into autopilot feels like being stabbed in the ribs. Of course they had tried to contact me when I first moved, but even then the episodes had subsided. A phone call hasn't affected me like this since I was living with my cousin, Karl, and that was over a year ago.

"Which one, Luna." She traces shapes onto my shoulder, bringing back memories I think we both wish to forget.

"Dad," I whisper back. They hum in response and continue rubbing my shoulder.

"I thought Karl told you to block both of them after everything?" Vix asks gently.

"I... I couldn't do it," I say, releasing more sobs into her side.

"I know. I know you couldn't, you still love them. And that's okay, okay?" She pulls back to look at me in the eye, their way of showing me it really is okay. I nod, clenching my eyes shut as if that could barricade my tears.

"Do you wanna finish them movie with me?" I nod again. "Good, because I was going to finish with or without your approval."

*~*~*

Ran, Tubs, and I finish two more games of Mario Kart before ending the stream.

"Okay, Tom. So we planned on going out for a little bit-"

"Without inviting me?" I gasp dramatically. Toby just rolls his eyes at me, shockingly reminding me of Vix. Their name drops a pit in my stomach and I can't help the guilty feeling that it releases.

"Well, we were going to invite you," Tubbo says, "but maybe not."

"I'm just messing," I say, laughing slightly. "I actually have some editing to do, I just wasn't sure I'd have time to work on it. I'll just see you boys later."

Ran and Tubbo say their good byes as they walk through the door. I head back to my room to edit a new vlog I've been editing. Since Vicky and Luna moved in next door, I haven't had a lot of time to do actual work minus a few streams.

Their name turns the taste in my mouth bitter. Autopilot takes over the editing while I think over what's happened in the past few hours. Had my makeup done, kissed my best friend, completely ignored her, let my other friend walk out when something was clearly wrong, and played Mario Kart.

I am a complete and utter piece of shit.

My stomach churns so much thinking it all over that I can't even concentrate on the monitor shoving images of Tubbo, Jack, James, Eryn, and Freddy into my periphery. Granted, I told them we'd talk later, but I know how her brain works. She'll think she's done something wrong- which they've never even come close to doing.

I grab my phone to see no new notifications and my stomach sinks farther. There was a glimmer of hope that maybe she'd texted me a meme or something- like they usually do. But instead I'm left with a clear notification center. Part of me wants to call them, but the more logical side says that they're probably busy.

Compromising, I power off my computer and put shoes on. Hopping while I put the other sock on, I walk into the hallway and make my way to the front door. I grab my house key before I leave, and lock my flat behind me.

The door to their flat is unlocked, so I just walk inside. I laugh to myself, thinking that I'll tell Vix now we're even. Ryuk has hobbled her way over to me when I turn around after shutting the door. Vix was right when she said I have a soft spot for cats, so I can't help but scratch her behind the ears before returning to my mission.

Vicky's door is cracked, giving me a glimpse into the room. A slight glow shines through the door, and from closer examination I realize it's from a laptop. From what I can tell, Luna is in the bed with Vix, watching  movie. I laugh, realizing that they're watching one of Vix's go-to's.

Neither of them notice me, so I assume they're asleep. Walking back to the living room, the ginger cat still trailing my heels, I decide to wait for Vix on the couch. Maybe then I can explain the existential dread I've been feeling since they left.
