school finished rather quickly, i pulled out my phone to text kuroo.

i ran to the station, the next train would take another 3 minutes. i sat on a bench, next to a elderly lady, she seemed very fixuated on me for some reason.
"you have a date tonight," i heard her say, i turned to face her, "yeah, i do." she smiled, "you dont like the boy though." i was taken back, "pardon me, but i do in fact like him," i replied, in the nicest way possible. "but you're also into another boy, this boy is more special to you, isnt he?" she asked, i nodded slightly. she chuckled in response as we both sat in a silence.
eventually the train arrived, i helped the elderly lady find a seat and when i was about to leave she asked me a final question, "be honest with yourself, do you really want to go on this date?" i thought about it before waving her off. the entire train ride there was me thinking, getting lost in my thoughts. once the train got to my stop, i got off, but all i could think about was that lady i saw, it was pretty random that she talked to me about my love life, but she wasnt wrong in any way.
my entire walk to my destination was just me with my head down, taking in the elderly lady's advice. do i really like kai? i asked myself.
i walked into forever 21, eyeing out the store, i looked for a dress just a simple one yet one that looked good to go out in. there were honestly so many options, i couldnt decide. eventually i decided to just get a simple black long sleeved dress

once getting back to my house i realised kai was going to be here any minute. i rushed into my room getting dressed and curling my hair, i could hear the doorbell ring, "shit, coming!" i yelled from my window, i couldnt see who is was but i saw a black car parked in my driveway. before exiting my room, i checked the time, it must be kai, i thought.
i ran down the stairs, holding my old ragged up converses. "good evening y/n," kai smiled to which i returned, he extended his arm, signaling he wanted me to hold onto it as he directed me to his car. "very nice car you have," i spoke softly, "thank you madam," he laughed.
the car ride to wherever he took me was comforting, he put his hand on my thigh, his other hand on the steering wheel, i found this action quite hot i wasnt gonna lie. he used his thumb to massage my thigh.
we pulled up at a resturaunt, one that looked super fancy. "this looks so expensive," i muttered, kai must've heard as he responded with a wink "my treat to you m'lady." i blushed at the sudden nickname as he led me inside. "reservation for kai," my date said towards the receptionist lady, she took us towards a table that was near a window and handed us 2 menus.
we observed the menus for a bit befoer kai asked, "what do you want to order dear?" i looked through the steaks, "hmm, im not too sure." i continued scanning the menu, i was a bit nervous, not only was this my first date, but kai seemed extremely mature compared to when he's around the team. "its okay, take your time y/n," he said, putting his hand on mine. i must admit, kai is very romantic.
after what felt like years of reading a menu, a waitress came over, "may i take your order?"
i looked at kai, "ladies first," he mumbled, i pointed at the menu, "can i just order a plate of fettuccine alfredo," the waitress nodded and wrote down my order, kai ordered a steak with diane sauce which sounded way too fancy for my liking.
"alright guys, any drinks while you're waiting?" the waitress asked, once again, kai insisted i ordered first, "i'll grab a glass of..." i looked at the drinks section of the menu, "f/d please."
