ten am the next day hit each of the friends like a wrecking ball but honestly, they wouldn't have it any other way. in the end, after so much conflict, something positive came to be in its wake.
hae-rin was happy for them, happy to the point where she'd jump up and down like mario while collecting gold coins but if you asked her if she was generally happy and she said yes, it would be a complete lie.
there was truth in the midst of the chaos, after years and years of harboring so much anger on both ends of the argument, things that were shared between the two girls dug at the garden of her heart, pulling out the flowers she spent so long trying to grow in hopes of masking the weeds of melancholy.
inside, she was hurt, broken, each nasty reply they'd thrown at each other replayed in her head at least a thousand times per minute, feeling like a mean jab in which she had absolutely no power to deflect.
but maybe she needed to hear it. maybe that's what would pull her head down from all the sunshine and rainbows and back into the reality where things were never always perfect.
