geon-woo impatiently tapped his fingers on the steering wheel, looking through the overhead mirror at the entrance of the strip mall to see if hyeon-ju and woo-jin had finished up in the bookstore but hadn't.
"aish, what the fuck is taking so long?" hae-rin was anxious, playing with her fingers to subside the fear that trickled up her bones. the night was too dead; just barely any passing cars, street lights that flickered on and off over time. it was the perfect set up for mischief.
eyes never leaving the mirror, geon-woo replied, "i don't know," and bit down on his busted bottom lip, only irritating it further. "is the safe really that valuable?"
he thought they should've gotten out when they could. it was clear that smile capital had detected them and with the disappearance of the man hae-rin had fought earlier, anything could happen so he at least wanted to know that the risk wasn't just for some petty cash.
