"Are you going to be back for dinner?" Jamie asked as I pulled on my shirt.

"I'm not sure. I'll let you know around 3 whether to wait up for me or not tonight," I answered. I looked in the mirror, desperately trying to fix my hair.

"Jake, you look fine. They love you, they just want to spend some time with you before you spend the next three days on the ice." Jamie pressed a kiss to the top of my head, "Besides, your Pops is calling."

He handed me my phone, I answered, "Hey Pops."

"Hey Jake, we're going to be there in five minutes according to that map thing," His Southern drawl warmed the phone.

I felt like I was heading back to the house where I spent all my summers growing up. The house that taught me how to ice skate, even though the nearest rink that summer was an hour round trip every day. The house where I got my first set of hockey gear for Christmas. The house I was really raised in, the one that felt like home.

"Pops it's just the app on your phone." I laughed.

"Les téléphones étaient dans le mur quand nous avions ton âge, Jacob." Meme chimed. Phones use to be on the walls when we were your age, Jacob.

"Tu es encore jeune, Meme," I replied. You're still young, Meme.

"Don't lie to her like that." Pops chuckled, I heard Meme gently hit him.

"You behave yourself, Pops. She might make you walk back." I laughed.

"We'll see you soon, bud." He said.

"See you soon." I was still smiling.

I hung up because I knew if I didn't, I would listen to the rest of their car ride here. I turned to Jamie, he was staring at me, "What?" I asked, "Do I have something on my face?"

"It's really hot that you can speak French." His face was a bit flushed.

"Vous ne savez même pas ce que je veux dire." I grinned. You don't even know what I'm saying.

"Don't do this to me when you're about to leave for the entire day!" He groaned.

"Je pourrais dire la chose la plus stupide en ce moment et vous seriez toujours aussi énervé." I leaned closer to him. I could be saying the stupidest thing right now and you'd still be this worked up.

He kissed me, pulling me close to him and pushing me against the sink. I hopped up on the sink and pulled him close. And then my phone buzzed. I pulled back, he tried to follow, and I checked my phone.

"Gotta go." I grinned.

"You're so fucking evil." He groaned.

"I'll let you know about dinner." I got up and grabbed my wallet.

"I fucking hate you." He looked like he was about to lose his mind.

I gave him one last kiss, "Have fun."

I headed down and out of the lobby of the hotel. I saw Pops' truck across the road, parked with him and Meme on the sidewalk. I quickly crossed the road and hugged both of them.

"Look at you, Jake. Keeping the muscle on from this summer, huh?" Pops asked.

"Yeah." I laughed, "The hockey training might be a bit easier than working for you though."

"Votre voix! Oh, regarde mon bébé." Meme grabbed my face, pulling me down to press a kiss on my forehead. Your voice! Oh look at my baby.

"You get taller?" Pops asked.
