My day went from ok to bad in a few minutes. This morning I woke up happy because I had a date with Biana this afternoon just to remember that we rescheduled it to another day. Me being the most optimistic man on earth, I just had to think that nothing else could make my day worse, right? Wrong. Just after I got out of bed, I slipped and sliced my palm on the bedroom mirror. I knew I was spending too much time with Sophie. Her clumsiness was rubbing off on me; I mean, how in the world did I slip on the wood floor how?? I bandaged my palm, showered, and took about 2 hours on my hair and again just to realize that I was 20 MINUTES LATE. I groaned; Lady Nyx, my Shade mentor, does not like late students; I rushed out of my dorm just to find out the elevator (A/N I can't remember the name of the thing they use) was broken. Right then, I wanted to punch a few walls and curse my bad luck today. But boy, did I know that this was just the beginning.
I ran down the millions of steps to get to Lady Nyx's room to find a note on her door.
" Hello, my shady students,
I will not have class today because of something important.
You have a day off.
use it wisely.

I read at loud. I internally screamed in my head, DID I JUST RUN DOWN 20 FLEETS OF STAIRS JUST TO KNOW THIS??????? Then I got a call from my Imparter; for a second, I considered throwing it across the room in anger but decided against it because the caller was Keefe.KEEFE. I started to worry; Keefe only called me when Sophie was hurt big time; the last time he called me was when Sophie's mind broke, which was 2 years ago; I shuddered, and that was one horrible week. I picked up the call, and Keefe's red eyes told me everything I needed to know. Before he could say anything, I said,
" Is Sophie ok? I am coming to the healing center right now".I ended the call, cursing the Elevator ( A/N Can't remember what the thing is called) again before running down more fleets of steps and bursting into the healing center.
I looked around, and to my surprise, Sophie was on the floor twitching; Keefe was next to her with silent sobs, shaking his body, and Elwin was also next to Sophie, muttering about.... something. Forkle was hailing someone, and Sandor was holding someone by the collar, lifting him a few inches above the ground. That took about 10 seconds. I quickly rushed to Keefe and was about to ask him what happened. Keefe looked at me and hugged me. HUGGED ME. I felt his tears soaking my tunic. I was surprised; sure, we were on better terms after 5 years, but we still hadn't gotten to the hugging stage .by a lot. I sat there, not knowing what to do. The only people I have hugged were Soph and Linh. I awkwardly patted his back, and Keefe snorted; he pulled away and said
" Do you not know how to comfort people???"
" I-I do, I mean maybe- ok, who am I kidding? I don't, and do I look like I care??" I shot back
Keefe laughed, looked at Sophie, and told me the story.
" Let me get this straight, that guy over there is dead??" I asked Keefe, pointing to the dude Sandor was holding.
He frowned at me " I spent a whole 3 minutes explaining, and THAT'S ALL YOU GOT???"
I scoffed " I got it, but HE'S DEAD."
I shook my head, rolled my eyes at him, and went over to look at Sophie. She had shadows and light swirling and seeping into her skin.
" Somebody told me I can't touch her," Keefe said angrily, looking at Elwin; Elwin shrugged
I looked at Keefe and groaned.
" I know you love her, I get it, but complaining is NOT going to get us anywhere, so please stop your lovey-doveyness and THINK."
" Tam's right, Keefe, your complaining is not going to get us anywhere," said Forkle
We both jumped; I had forgotten he was there
" So when is Wylie coming? I asked him
" He'll be here in a minute, " Forkle replied
I looked at Sophie again. Something was pulling me towards her. I'm guessing the shadows.
That's when Wylie came in with Linh in tow.
As soon as Linh saw me, she squealed, ran towards me, hugged me tight, and said
" Tammy!!!! I haven't seen you in forever!!!" Keefe snorted at the nickname; I glared at him before answering
" I saw you last night Linh."
" I know, that was " She stopped to count
" 16 hours ago!!!"
I gave her a small smile; only Linh and Soph made me smile, even a small one. Edaline came in as a close second ( A/N: as I was writing this, I may have thrown my laptop at a wasp, don't worry, my laptop is fine, but I completely missed the wasp)
Keefe imitated Linh's squeal, which earned him a water splash to his face.
" I loved the Kam moment, but I need we need to focus on Sophie," Elwin said. Keefe glared at Elwin, but Elwin just smiled slyly before flashing a bunch of different colors around Sophie.
" Tam, are you feeling the same pull from Sophie?" Wylie asked
I nodded " I was just about to ask you that. I think I feel the pull from the shadows, your pull from the light."
I continued " I think we are supposed to suck out the shadows and light from her blood; it could be messing with her brain, and the way the shadows and lights seem to touch each other, I am sure she was trying to protect herself, and I have a feeling she was trying to wrap herself in shadows and light, but it backfired since there opposites, and it's now killing her," I said nodding, walking toward Sophie, I stopped when I saw everyone staring at me.
" What? why are you staring at me?"
" T-Tam, you sounded W-Wise," stuttered Keefe
"Um, I kinda have to if I am going the be a Shade Mentor. And the fact I'm Sophie's shade mentor, I know her shadows way better than any of you."
They were still starting
" Ok, you're staring again, and I think it flew over your heads, but if we don't do this soon, SOPHIE GONNA DIE," and on that cheery note, everyone seemed to snap out of their Tam-Is-smart funk.
I quickly levitated Sophie into the nearest cot.
" Ok, so Wylie, hold her right hand on my count and try to pull the light away from her, got it? " I instructed Wylie.
"1"

"3"
As we pulled the shadows and light away from her, Sophie let out a bloodcurdling scream.
A/N: 3 PAGES!!!!! I am so proud of myself, I hope I captured Tam's shady side, and Tam Linh was adopted by Sophie's parents in my Fanfic Sophie is very close to Tam as a brother because The next chapter is Part 2 with Tam's POV again.
