"Leon, sweetheart..." Danny climbed into bed with him, wrapping him up in his arms. "I need you to understand something here." He took his cheeks in his hands, his eyes darting around Leon's face. "There is no 'leaving'. There is no 'moving on to someone else.' After you, that's it.
You're the thing I look forward to every day. I have dedicated my entire existence to being a tribute to your honor.
"I don't think you understand what I mean when I say 'I love you.' I don't even know what love is, I just say that because it's the easiest way to express affection in a way that others will understand. I don't just love you, I'm completely obsessed with you. I would fight a band of rabid wolves just for the privilege of clipping your toenails. Every time our skin is not in contact, I'm burning. I want to claw my face off. Every time you're not in my sight my heart loses the energy to beat. I force myself to keep going in the mere hopes of seeing you again.
"If you ever left me, I would be a hollow corpse, scavenging the bleak surface of the world for scraps of your essence. You would get a restraining order, or send me to prison, and I would count the days. I would persist, I would keep myself in peak physical form, just in case I happened to glimpse you for any reason. I would not allow myself to die knowing you were out there somewhere. Because if you exist, there's always a chance.
"If you died, it would be over. Nothing matters without you. I would cling to your corpse like seaweed to the rocks. They would pry my half starved, feral shell of a body from your decaying form, and I would slowly whither away until I hopefully joined you in whatever afterlife there may be. I'm not going to ruin my own entire existence for the sweet sadistic pleasure of the few seconds it takes you to die."
