i'm so excited to be sharing this story with you all. sorry it's a bit short, it's 5:30 am and i'm tired.

enjoy!! <3

i opened the car door, ready for another boring day of high school. i walked into school and immediately spotted my friends. i ran up to them.

"hey guys!! what's new??"

brianna: "nothing much. hey, have you heard?? huening kai and his friends are hosting a party later."

huening kai. the name echoed in my mind as if my mind was a cave. i have had a crush on him since freshman year. unfortunately, i'm not sure that he takes note of my existence. some waves and "excuse me"s, but i don't think he really knows me. of course, i couldn't mention the fact that i liked him because i knew i would be teased greatly by my friends.

brianna: "y/n? hello?"

"oh, sorry. i got distracted. who's invited?" i asked, eager to find a way to spend more time with him.

riley: "basically like the entire grade. huge rager."

i smiled ecstatically. junior year had been suckish so far. my friends and i were never invited to any sick parties, half of the grade doesn't really know we exist. this was my chance for him to notice me. the bell rang and i walked off to my next class. english. ironically, him and i have english together, but i try to stay away from him.

although, something told me i should sit next to him. just so when i show up, we aren't total strangers.

i walked into class and nervously sat down. i gave him a small wave, and he returned it. then he started talking across the room to one of his friends, soobin. i smiled at their humor. class went on. i took a glance at huening kai every once in a while, though it seemed he was too focused on the work and his friends. i sighed, trying to concentrate, but all i could hear were his laughs echoing in my head.

after what felt like an eternity, lunch came. i sat down with my friends and ate quietly. i don't talk much usually anyway, but today, i definitely wasn't in the mood. all my friends wanted to talk about was the party. i tried to ignore their smiling faces at the thought of the party, but it just kept bugging me, and i eventually got up and looked around for another place to sit.

the only place that had a seat open was huening kai's table. i sat down in the chair and took a bite of a carrot. they didn't seem to realize that i sat down until huening kai pointed me out.

huening kai: "hey. y/n, right??"

my heart started beating so hard it felt like it would explode. i nodded slightly and kept eating.

huening kai started telling the group about how focused i seemed in english class. i smiled, knowing i made the right choice moving away from my friends, even if they were mad at me later.

he knows who i am!!
