TW: panic attack
this chapter is kinda short but sweet.

i woke up in hyuka's arms. i rolled over and looked at his peaceful face.

"he's so cute when he's sleeping.." i mumbled.

a couple seconds later he opened his eyes and gave me a hug.

"how you feeling??"

huening kai:"sore. everywhere... how long am i gonna feel like this.."

"i'm not sure, but you're strong, kai. i'm here for you."

kai kissed me on the forehead. i tried to go back to sleep when i realized. KAI. KISSED. ME. ON. THE. FOREHEAD!!

instead, i sat up and pulled him up off the couch.

"hmm. it's sunday... what should we do??"

he was silent for a second.

he moved closer to me.

huening kai:"this."

he kissed me, sitting me down on the couch.

"kai, we shouldn't-"

he interrupted me with another kiss.

for some reason, i pushed him off.

"i said we shouldn't do this!! are you fucking out of your mind??"

he frowned.

huening kai:"but y/n i just thought-"

"NO! NOT 'I JUST THOUGHT.' YOU DIDN'T THINK AT ALL!!"

i grabbed my things and stormed out of the room. i exited the house and walked home.

my phone chimed.

texting with kai

kai: y/n i'm sorry
kai: y/n please come back
kai: i'm hurt
kai: please i thought you would stay with me!!
kai: y/n??
kai: y/n..
me: changed my mind. feel better.

i sighed, hating that i had to do that to him.

i went home and slept it off.

around 3 hours later, i heard my window creak open. i opened my eyes. a couple seconds later, kai's beautiful bruised face came into view.

"why are you here."

huening kai:"look..y/n-"

he reaches for my hand. i pulled back, astonished.

huening kai:"that was stupid of me- i don't know what came over me- i don't even like you like that, i-"

i didn't catch the rest of his words. i stopped listening at 'i don't even like you like that.' i just gasped. then my heart started beating really fast.

i put my hand on my heart, struggling to sit.

huening kai:"y/n, are you okay?? y/n??"

"i c-can't bre-athe"

i hyperventilated rapidly. kai had to hold me up so i didn't fall backwards. tears stung my eyes. i struggled to breathe.

huening kai:"y/n breathe just take deep breaths"

i tried really hard. all that came out were gasps.

huening kai:"y/n talk to me"

"i c-CAN'T!"

i kept gasping, sometimes gathering enough breath to blurt out 'help'.

huening kai:"y/n it's okay, you can breathe, you're gonna be fine i promise. take deep breaths for me."

i inhaled and exhaled shakily.

huening kai:"again"

i did it repeatedly. after 2 minutes of deep breathing, i caught my breath again.

"thank you k-kai"

he smiled and sat me down on the bed.

huening kai:"i'm gonna leave you here to calm down. take care of yourself, y/n."

"wait."
