Flicker

Lots of flicker upon the dimming lights
One might not get used to this kindness
The other might get curious for the thrill of it
Would it be much different now that you are something?

The empty chair in front of a dead store
Been standing there all rusty throughout the year
Eaten up by the changing seasons
And the memories that would never be

Guess the world sympathized
For the boy with a big dream
One that would not think twice to leave
To chase the American dream

It came with a price
The life that you'd always desire
The motivation book that led you here
The reputation you always dreamt of

Now that you are something
Would it be bad to look back at something?
To the rusty chairs at the front store
To the memories that long for a chance
