"What are we going to do, bro?" Sky asked as he and Leo sat outside on the porch drinking some beer while their mother slept on the couch "I don't know, bro. It's been a long time since I saw her like this," Leo said as he took a sip of his beer.
"Yeah, the last time I saw mom like this was at Dad’s and…”
"Michael’s funerals,” Leo said sadly, looking down at the floor Sky notices this and tries to cheer up his brother “Don’t blame yourself, bro. Dad and Brandon knew the risks of the job,” said Sky.
Leo looks up at him with tears in his eyes “He made me promise him before he left that day to take care of mom, you, and Lily. In a way, I feel that I failed him,” Leo said as Sky looked at his twin knowing that he and Michael were close to each other just like he and their father. Soon Leo stood up from his sit “Where are you going?” Sky asked as Leo walked to their car “To pay a visit to someone,” Leo said as he got into the car.
“Come on, Leo just tell me where you’re going,” Sky said from the porch, Leo just looked at his brother for a few seconds before he drove off, leaving Sky standing on the porch by himself.
Newtech City Harbor, CA
Z was sitting on top of an abandoned warehouse that oversaw the entire harbor, seeing the ships docking and offloading their cargo "I thought I might find you here," Z turns to see Jack leaning on the door.
"How did you know I'll be here?" Z asked, turning back to the harbor "You always loved the view from here," he said, sitting down next to her "Want to talk about it?"
Z sighs "It sucks that Leo and Sky are going through this," she said as a cargo ship goes by "It sounds like you've been here before," said Jack.
Z looks out at the harbor with a tear in her eye "I was with them when they got the news that their father died in the line of duty," Z said sadly.
Jack just sat there in silence as he processed the information that Z just gave him but sadly he didn't have the right words that could make this situation better. So Jack did the only thing he knew best: he comforted Z by giving her a side hug as the both of them enjoyed the view that was in front of them.
Collins Household, Romandale, CA, 2021
It was a sunny day in the city of Romandale as a young Leo sat on the steps of his family's porch after he had a big fight with his twin brother. Soon their older brother Michael came out and sat next to him for a good ten minutes, the both of them stayed silent and enjoyed the summer sun, then Michael spoke up "What to talk about it," he asked as Leo just stayed silent while he enjoyed the summer sun.
