Leo is the twin brother of the all- serious Sky Tate who wants to be the red ranger like their father. They may be brothers but they have very different personalities one loves to chat and hang out with friends the other has a stick up his ass.

"This car is as good as ours," said the alien thug as he starts laughing to his accomplice. Jack was hidden behind a pillar with his SPD-issued blaster in his hands. While Leo crouches behind a red Nissan GTR as he waits for the signal to arrest these scumbags.
"Squad leader, do we drive in?" Sky asked over the communication device in his morpher.
"Come on squad leader, answer," sighed Jack.
"Squad leader, come in. Do we move in?" Sky asked again.
"I can't believe that these two are stealing a fucking Prius," Leo said as Bridge, Syd, and Z stood up from behind the parked car with their blasters in hand, "Freeze! SPD!" exclaimed Syd. The two car thieves took off running, forcing Leo and the others to chase them.
"What's going on," Sky asks as he and Jack accidentally ran into each other, while Leo and the others went after the two car thieves. Bridge and Syd caught one of the thieves while Leo and Z went for his accomplice. When the four of them come back with the two thieves in handcuffs, Jack looks over at them with a frustrated look.
"Oh, this is great!" Jack exclaimed, "I could have been in on the arrest if squad leader would have done their job."
"For once...I agree with you," said Sky.
"Finally character growth," exclaims Leo.
"Thank you," sighed Jack as he looks at the others "Now who was squad leader?"
"Dude, are you fucking kidding me right now," Leo said looking at Jack in disbelief.
"What?" Jack asked as Sky patted his shoulder "That'd be you," he muttered as Jack's eyes widen, and gave an awkward but weak smile.
In his warship, Gruumm was talking to a hologram "Fly my warriors! Victory is near," he said before sitting down on his throne, "If I know Cruger, he will send his best and brightest to stop the attack...leaving earth completely defenseless!"
Back on earth, the B-squad rangers minus Jack and Leo were on their way to the command center when the alarms went off "What's going on," asked Z.
"It's a code five," Sky said as A-squad left the command center in a hurry.
"Is that bad?" asked Z
"Let's put it this way, code three is bad," Bridge replies.
"Where's the A-squad..." Syd asked as they entered the command center, "What's happening Commander," asked Sky.
"A full-scale attack has been launched against our federation in the Helix Nebula," Cruger explained, as Boom rushed over to the computers while the rest gathered around the central computer as an image of Gruumm appeared "Emperor Gruumm the leader of the Troobian Empire," said Cruger.
"Ew...a serious contender for one of those makeover shows," said Syd earning an eye roll from Sky.
"He's merciless and will stop at nothing to conquer what he set out to," Cruger warned.
"The Helix Nebula?" asked Sky.
"That is just the beginning. He's after this galaxy," said Cruger.
"You sound like you know him," frowned Z.
"Our paths have crossed before," admitted Cruger as the image of Gruumm disappears, "I've sent A-squad to the front line of the Helix Nebula."
"A-squad's gone?" asked Syd.
"We're fucked," everyone turns around to see Leo standing next to Boom.
