The Keg, Outer Banks

The Pogues were all in the Twinkie — the beloved van that drove us all around everywhere. They were all trying to talk themselves into not going onto the beach — which is where the keg was being held.

Loads of Kooks, Tourists and Pogues were passing the Twinkie, on their way to the keg. But they were still sat in the Twinkie, for some reason.

"Guys I think we should go to the keg now." Matilda broke the silence.

"Agreed! Stop being such pussies." JJ backed up Matilda.

They all pluck up the courage to leave the Twinkie. It was already dark outside and the music was blasting, with muffled sounds of people talking.

Matilda used to love kegs; going with her Kook friends, being known as the Princess of the Kooks. Until she decided that they were all fake and stabbed each other in the backs when they weren't looking.

In the corner of Matilda's eye she can see a tall figure on the far side of the beach, who has been staring at her for the past half an hour.

"Kie." She whispers to the brunette next to her. "Tell me who is staring at me, they are are on the left side of me. But don't make it obvious." As Matilda says don't make it obvious, what does Kie do?

She makes it painfully obvious.

"It's Rafe Cameron." She says as she fakes a gag.

Of course it's Rafe. The Van Der Kline girls stomach turns at the thought. She knew he would be here. So why is she so surprised?

JJ, Pope and John B walk over with five cups full to the brim with an unknown beverage. "What's in the cups?" Kie questioned.

"You have to drink to find out." JJ smirked.

"You don't have to tell me twice." Matilda grabbed the cup out of the boys hand as she chugged it, all eyes on her. Random boys behind her cheering.

"That's the spirit Tils!" JJ cheered. Finishing his cup with her.

The two girls from the previous day in the shop walk over to the Pogues. "Hey JJ." They giggle. Matilda and Kie pretending to throw up behind them.

One of the girls, Davina Irvine, turns to Matilda, "You know Rafe Cameron has been staring at you all night?" She says, disgusted how he could be looking at her. All of the Pogues turn their heads towards Rafes direction.
