SARA'S POV-
We couldn't find a single restaurant that had any empty seats. Like Hye jin said, it was all power-packed for real that day. Luckily, we found a small but nice restaurant across the street in our neighborhood. We sat down on the table; ordered an 'Extra Spicy Chicken Wing' Platter and Soju (A Korean beverage).
"So, how should I address you?" I asked, as addressing older people with respect was quite essential among Koreans.
"You look twenty-five." She chewed her chicken.
"A good guess work. But, twenty-six, actually." I poured her a glass of Soju.
"Perfect. I'm twenty-seven; older than you anyways." She exhaled in pleasure after sipping on her drink.
"You can call me Unnie (older sister). But you can talk casually. Not like I mind it." She chuckled.
I nodded my head, after picking up my second wing with her munching on the....fourth one. She was faster than me at eating.
"What profession are you into?" I poured her another glass.
"I'm a flight attendant." She continued, "Wait. Do you not want any?"
"I haven't tried yet." I shook my head. "What? What are you saying?!" She looked at me in amazement of how a twenty-six year old hadn't tried alcohol yet.
"You don't drink?" She asked as drinking was pretty normal in Korean culture but my mother would've thrashed me and disowned me if she ever knew of the fact that I consumed alcohol and similar other products.
"Well, I do. But I haven't tried Soju yet." I pursed my lips in uncertainty of the new taste.
"Then it is time to try one!" She passed me the bottle before gesturing to take a sip.
Unsure at first, I tried it anyway as having new experiences is all I traveled for. It had a neutral, slightly sweet taste with a clean finish and I nearly chugged the whole bottle down in satisfaction.
"Is being a Flight attendant your dream job?" I came to the main matter. She just smiled; so bright that she looked helplessly beautiful.
"I always wanted to do this and it finally came true!" She said further.
"What do you do then?" She took a few more bites before asking me.
"Oh. I work as an Interpreter." I smiled too, for what, God knows why. I just loved to say that I was an Interpreter.
"Dream job?" She chuckled. "Yea," I nodded.
"And I wonder how your Korean is so good." She complimented me for the first time and I felt as if I was on cloud nine.
"Well, I speak Japanese too. I've always wanted to do this. And finally traveling this far to Korea is like a dream come true." I picked up the last piece of chicken left on the plate.
"I can understand." She took a pause before going on. "So, it's your first ever job?"
"Not really. I previously worked in India. I used to translate movie dialogues and scripts for dubbing. I also dubbed a few movies. Then, as my final leap, I got a chance to work here in Korea. And there I am!" I breathed out in excitement.
"It's my treat!" She cleared the bill when I took my wallet out to give my share, in case she wanted to split. "So...where do you work now?" We walked down the road on our way back home.
"Yes. About that. Where's this FJ Entertainment and what could possibly be the travel mode till there?" I absolutely hadn't figured out any means of getting to my workplace, the next day being my first time.
