Bad day at work

Daniel arrives to work in his Aston Martin and parks in his usual parking space. Immediately he is suspicious, the spot to the left of his, has a car in it, a spot that should be empty. The car looks familiar but he can't put his finger on it.

He gets into the building and walks up to the front desk.

"Who is in the spot to the left of mine?" He questions the receptionist.

"Your new assistant sir." Daniel is confused he never needed nor asked for an assistant. Curious he takes the elevator up to Grayson Global.

The doors of the elevator open and he walks to his office. What he sees when he pushes his office door open shocks him.

"Hello Daniel." Ashley says. Now he knows why that car looked familiar.

"What the hell are you doing here?"

"I'm your new assistant." Ashley gives him a smug grin.

"Oh no you are not!" Daniel storms out of his office and into his father's. Conrad is talking on the phone.

"Why the hell is that British scum in my office."

"I'll call you back." Conrad slams the phone down. "Was it really necessary to interrupt me! That was a very important call."

"Why is that bitch there!"

"I hired her, you need an assistant."

"No I do not. I'm firing her!"

"You can't she has a contract."

"Why would you do this to me?" He angrily walks out of the room and into his office.

"Get me a coffee." He snarls at Ashley.

Back at the beach house Emily gets ready to go to the hospital, she hasn't seen Charlotte in a while. She wants some alone time with her half sister.

She grabs her stuff and gets in the car. She is very concerned about Charlotte. Is she continues down this path, there is no telling when or if she'll stop. Emily brushes off that last thought.

She arrives at the hospital. Emily is anxious to see her sister, Emily never gets anxious but when it comes to family.

She strolls down the hall until she gets to Charlotte's room. She kneels down next to the bed.

"Charlotte, I know you can't hear me right now but I just want you to know i'll always be there for you." Suddenly Charlotte's fingers begin to move and her eyes flutter open.

"Emily?" She says in a weak voice.

"Charlotte you're up." Emily gets up from the floor and hugs Charlotte.

"Where's Daniel?" She looks around the room.

"He's at work. I'll call him and tell him you woke up." Emily pauses. "Charlotte can you tell me why you overdosed again?"

"After you and Daniel left for your honeymoon, I saw Declan. It was the first time I'd seen him since he told me off at school. Seeing him got me angry, I want to be with him but I've been a bitch to him lately, I know he won't take me back."

"Really Charlotte, that's what you overdosed for. You should go talk to him once you get out of here."

"Thanks Emily."

"No problem." She smiles. "I'm gonna call Daniel now."

She dials Daniel's number. Within two rings he answers. "Hello."

"Daniel, I'm at the hospital and Charlotte just woke up. She wants to see you."

"Okay, I'm on my way."

"Are you okay you sound stressed."

"Just a bad day at work, that's all. See you soon."

"Bye." Emily hangs up.

"Is he coming?" Charlotte asks.

"He's on his way."

"Good. So what have you been up to?"

"Nothing really, just hanging around the house."

"Sounds fun."

They sit there chatting for a while. After about twenty minutes Daniel walks in.

"Charlotte!"

"Danny!"

"I've missed you so much" he kisses her forehead. "Hey Ems." He kisses Emily. "So Charlie, how are you feeling."

"Good I guess."

"Good. Don't you ever scare us like that again."

"I'm sorry."

"That's okay."

They spend the most of the day at the hospital until Charlotte falls asleep.

"I'm guessing that's our cue to go." They leave the hospital together.

"So are you going to tell me about your bad day at work?"

"Well, I get to work and walk into my office and guess who's there."

"Who?"

"Ashley Davenport. She's my new assistant, my dad hired her."

"She's back in town?"

"Yep and as annoying as ever."

"Oh well." Emily kisses Daniel and wraps her arms around him. "I love you."

"I love you too." They fall asleep in each others arms.
