I held a small box in my hand as I walked towards Theo's room. I opened the bedroom door without knocking and stopped walking in further. Theo was only wearing a towel around his waist, his back facing me as he leaned onto a crutch to keep himself upright. My eyes wandered over his back. Cuts, scars and wounds littered over his whole backside and shoulders. They had healed but still looked awfull. Although I knew that he had scars, I had never seen them. "Are you going to come in or are you going to continue to gawk in that doorway" Theo questioned without even turning to me. Realising he did not really care about the whole ordeal of me seeing him almost naked. I stepped forward so I could hand him the box I was holding. He turned and now leaned against the wall and on his crutch. Before reaching his hand out to take the small box from me. He raises an eyebrow in confusiom before returning his eyes onto me. A questioning look shimmering in his eyes. "It's a tie" I told him, "for school". "Ah. Well. Thanks for... this" Theo replied lifting the box up.Although he did not make any move to open it. He just looked at me before calmly saying "so can I change now?". I nodded and then left his bedroom.

Leaning on my crutch I looked up to the school building. Taking in the details of the private school. Which my father had signed me up for. Now I hated the fact that he made me go here. But I certainly was not one to give up before I had even tried it. That was an annoying trait, considering I had actually no desire to be here. But somehow my brain had convinced me that it might be fun. I leaned further onto the crutch while grabbing a lighter and a packet of cigarettes. With the cigarette in my right hand and with the lighter in my left hand. I had managed to light the cigarette without falling over. I lifted the hand with the cigarette up to my mouth and flicked the cap back on the lighter with the other hand, extinguishing the small flame. I licked my lips to prevent the paper of the cigarette from sticking to it. But before I could actually take a breath in to staet smoking, the cigarette was snatched out of my hand. I turn my head slightly to face said person "You're on school grounds, son". I realised that the person was a teacher, well he certainly dressed like one. "So?" I shrugged at him, "we have a rule that forbids students to smoke of school grounds". I chuckled and licked my teeth at him before taking my cigarette back from him "Then its a good thing that I am not on school grounds". The teacher gave me a questioning look. I looked down to the ground and then back at up at him. "Im in front of the property line" I showed him a cheeky smirk before taking a hit from the cigarette. The man gritted his teeth in annoyence at me. "Put. That. Out" he sneered at me. I took one more long hit, the smoke pricking my throat, burning it slightly, before blowing it out into his face. A smirk playing on my lips as I saw the teacher grow more annoyed because of me. I threw the cigarette away and move to go onto the school ground. "See you in class, Guv'nor" I cheekily told him.As I make my way through the boring school halls, a lot of students look my way. I didnt care to give them a second glance. But they clearly cared to watch me. As I continued I heard them whisper stuff about me. From my crutch to me being the new kid. Like always, I ignore the stares and whispering as I keep moving through the hallway. I finally manage to arrive in the classroom. And of course the teacher had to be the one I had met at the gates. The lesson he had prepared was boring and dull. I quickly lost interest and turned my attention to the window to look outside. Some cars passing by, men on their way to work, women on their way to do shopping. Even a stray dog trotted by. "Mr Shelby". I turn my head feom the window to look at the teacher, "excuse me Theodore, but are we disturbing your daydreaming?". The whole class laughs at the teachers comment. "No. I'm listening to you" I simply replied, "good. Then you won't mind commenting about what we were discussing". "Sure. My pleasure. But in what context?". "Alright, Theodore. I'll humor you. We were discussing the topic of UK's and the allies victory in the Great War". I looked up at him "I think its fair to mention that the UK and her allies didn't win the war" I simply shrugged. Gasps filled the classroom, most students not agreeing with my statement. Some even whispered traitor. But I was not finished talking so I continued. "But neither did the central powers. No one won". The teacher wore an annoyed expression as he continued to listen. "Swathes of Europe lay wasted, millions were dead or wounded on both sides. Survivors lived on with severe mental trauma. It is odd to talk about winning. When both sides have great losses. But yes, in a narrow military sense, the UK and its allies convincingly won. Germany's battleships had been bottled up by the Royal Navy until their crews mutinied rather than make a suicidal attack against the British fleet. Germany's army collapsed as a series of mighty allied blows scythed through supposedly impregnable defences. By late September 1918 the German emperor admitted that there was no hope and Germany must beg for peace. And the 11th of November, when the treaty was signed, was essentially a German surrender". I returned my eyes to the teacher "so isn't that treaty responsible for the victory of Allied forces?". A growl escaped his throat "who do you think you're fooling? Huh" he loudly asked as he had now came into my face. "What? I mean, was what I said not correct? Because-", "shut up!" He screamed before turning around to walk a few steps away from me. He shook his head and laughed then turned back to face me while waving a finger. "You think that you're smart enough to just come in here and just glide through my class. But, actually, you don't care. Why should you, I mean you already know it all. Tell me, why even bither coming here?". I smirk "you know that might be the first decent question that you have asked me". "Get out!" He snapped pointing to the door as he leaned over my desk. I smirked at him before answering "With pleasure".
I grabbed my crutch and pushed myself up. "Excuse me" I said to the teacher who still stood in my way. I am not going around him so he will need to step aside. I was not suprised that he did move out of my way. But still annoyence was clear on his face.
With the help of my crutch, I hobble througg the hallway. But then stop when some lads my age step infront of me. Before surrounding me. "You're the new kid" the blond to my left said, "what do you want?" I scoffed and rolled my eyes, "youre the kid who thinks we didn't win the war. You're a traitor!" The blond yelled, "I'm not a traitor" I replied unamused, "I just see things differently. Unlike some people". "Are you calling me dumb?" The blond questioned angrily. "Im not calling you anything. Its you who implied it" I answered, "He's messing with you" his friend to my right told the blond. The leader, obvisiouly the blond, grew angry and soon grabbed the collar of my clothes. I chuckled at him "you'll regret it". It was basically a dare for him to punch me. Which he took, because not long after, the first punch landed right against my face.
