After getting everything into the car, I jumped in and pulled out of the driveway. It was going to be a bit of a long ride. Evermyth was about 2 hours away. I wasn't going to stop until I got there.
*****TIME SKIP*****
I pulled onto the gravel road at the entrance to Evermyth. Trees surrounded both sides of the road. Some people would find this place eerie but I just found comfort and tranquility.
I parked my car at the end of the road. The road only went about a quarter of a mile in, the rest had to be done on foot. Jumping out of my car in giddy excitement, I hurried to the back to get my things. I grabbed my tent last. I knew there was an abandoned cabin around here somewhere but I had never found it.
Turning toward the forest, I started my journey. I had about a 30 minute walk ahead of me.
As I walked, I admired the nature. The trees where very big, if I walked up and hugged one, I wouldn't be able to connect my arms. Heck, two people wouldn't be able to do that. They're just so huge! Moss ran up both sides of the trees. Grass and ferns grew up to my knees and here and there, you could see spider webs on some.
Too caught up in admiring the view, I didn't see the deer until I was nearly right up on them. I stopped and they just stood there. I could see little babies here and there, they were still young enough to have their spots. Looking up from them, I saw the big buck. It was staring straight at me. I didn't dare breath in case it might startle them. Finally, the buck let out a snort and bounded away, its comrades following.
I just stood there and smiled like an idiot. I loved Evermyth! I loved the nature and the scenery! I turned and continued my journey, more anxious than ever to set up camp.
