Sue's P.O.V
I'm...falling? There's a constant white noise in my ears so I can't hear anything but that building is definitely getting further away.
My hair whips around me and I see Eegrin unconscious and sailing with me. Yep, definitely falling. A blood curdling screech rips from my throat even though I can't hear it. Fighting against the air current, I flipped myself around, facing the quick approaching ground.
"What am I gonna do?! Help me! Tarris!"
I turn my stinging eyes toward Eegrin, hoping against hope that he would wake up and manage something. He was still unconscious. My eyes water for reasons other than the wind. This is where I die. I'm sorry Tarris.
I reach for Eegrin's hand and pull him closer. I close my eyes and try not to think of the pain I'm about to feel. The pain I already seem to be feeling. The pain resonating... from my back? Real pain like a sliding knife cuts through my shoulder blades. Tear jerking pain from my nails to my toes suddenly flares to life.
Another screech tears from my throat. My bones feel like they're shifting to angles not meant to be and I feel like I'm ...growing? All I can do is clutch Eegrin closer and watch the ground get closer as my body radiates pain.
Then, between one blink and the next, I've become something not me. White scales cover my reptilian body and my claws now engulf Eegrin with their hold.
I've become a dragon?! Wait, if I'm a dragon I should have-"
Wings! I have wings! Quickly feeling my new muscles, I snap my wings open and instantly cry out in pain. It seems that one should not suddenly open their wings to a plummet without fear of ripping said wings off.
My wings slow our descent and I strain to glide slowly to the ground. Not slow enough it seems cause next thing I know, my body is crashing into the ground causing a sizable crater. Eegrin was kept safely tucked to my body.
I blink away the dirt that had fallen into my eyes and attempt to stand, wobbling the whole way. I set Eegrin out of the crater and pull myself out. My dragon body is long and lithe and apparently packed with hidden muscle because I easily lifted my now two tonned self out.
I look over myself. My once human body is now a white dragon. My wings appear white but if one got close, they could see that the underside had a purple hue. My tail had pointed spikes at the tip of it. A sudden groan pulls me from my examination of myself.
I turn back to see Eegrin's attempt at sitting up. It quickly becomes obvious that its a failed endeavour. I take the few steps it takes to get to him and use one of my claws to assist him.
I let out an unconscious whine of concern at seeing his full condition. My hearing must have finally come back to its completion because I can hear Eegrin's bones grinding together in what is obviously a broken bone; apparently he wasn't as safe in my arms as I thought he was. Eegrin doesn't seem to notice though because he looks at me and looks startled for a moment, then gives a huge smile.
"Whoa, Sue! I didn't know you were a dragon!," came his exclamation.
Yeah, well, neither did I
My snarky reply comes out as a hissing grumble though. Eegrin just continues to smile and look around. We were in a small clearing surrounded by pine trees. I could in a stream somewhere nearby.
"Well," Eegrin says," guess our escape is not quite complete. We still gotta get out of these woods."
I eagerly nod in agreement, wanting to be as far away as possible from the madman dubbed Mayhem. Eegrin attempts to stand and seems to finally notice the extent of his injuries if the hiss of pain is anything to go by. I guess I know where the broken bone is now.
Sure enough, Eegrin's right leg bone was broke. After some awkward maneuvering, Eegrin managed to climb on my back. Wanting to get as much distance as possible from my prison, I didn't complain at being used as a horse. Swinging my giant body toward the edge of the clearing, I set off walking.
