Tarris' P.O.V
After learning that Mayhem had taken my mate, there had been a constant feel of low simmering rage in my stomach. The very thought that that thing had touched my mate both repulsed and worried me. Sue may have ran from me, which I will most assuredly uncover why, but she couldn't have picked a worse dragon to be swooped up by.

My family and I have been working nonstop searching for Mayhem's home in the mountains. Everytime we've come home empty handed and the hole in my heart continues to expand. Other than rage and the feeling of lose, it seems as though I've became numb. Sulma isn't doing any better. She hardly eats and it seems as if she has become a shell of her former self. Her poor mate does what he can to help her but you can see the hopelessness in his eyes each time she turns away from him. I'm sure I don't look any better.

A knock on my door drags me from the fag that seems to have settled in my head. Ash's head pokes in and he gives me a weak smile.

"Hey, bro," he says softly. I just watch him. He clears his throat and steps into my room.

"How about me and you go help mom and dad and everyone go look for her?" He begins. I give him a 'I-would-if-I-could' look.

"Hey," he says indignantly," don't give me that look. I know what mom and dad said but that doesn't mean we can't help a little."

At the beginning of our search mom and dad had forbidden me from helping, claiming I would be more of a hindrance than a help, especially if we found Mayhem's lair and my rage overwhelmed me.

I jump off my bed and pull Ash outside with me. If Ash was willing to put his butt on the line with our parents then so was I.

"That's the spirit," he chirps from beside me," we'll just avoid the area everyone else is looking."

I give him the 'no shit' look and step aside as he begins to transform. I quickly follow his lead as he takes off.

We travel to the northeast, away from everyone else's search areas. The mountains of this area was full of nothing but pine trees too thick to see much through but it was the only place we hadn't yet looked.

We split up, me taking the left and Ash taking the right. I tried to keep as low as I could for better visibility through the trees but it was like looking through a green pond. I huffed in agitation. The itching thought of burning it all down passes through but I brush it away. I wanted to rescue Sue not burn her to a crisp.

It seemed as though someone else had a different idea when suddenly, further north, an explosion seemed to occur, throwing flaming woods and dirt and debris everywhere. The pressure release from it slammed into me and suddenly I was going down, unable to regain my balance.
(I thought of stopping here but I think I've left y'all with too many cliff hangers as it is)

Sue's P.O.V
It seemed as if I had been here for an eternity. I had finally met Mayhem face to face and it left a sick feeling in my chest.
(Flashback)
I opened my eyes after taking a short nap only to panic at seeing the cage before all that had happened came back to me . I remembered running away from Tarris and everyone else. I felt as if that had been the worst decision I had ever made in my life. If I ever got out of this place I would go back begging on my knees if I had to.

I looked to my right to see Eegren still snoozing. I couldn't imagine what he has been through while trapped here. I could see scars littering his arms and legs. It made anger course through me at the thought of harming someone so innocent. His sleeping face almost reminded me of an angel.

The sudden slam of an opening door ruined that image as Eegren jumped awake as I turned to see Mayhem walking down the steps. He looked in my direction and smiled maliciously.

"Oh, little bird," he crooned sickeningly sweet,"it's good to see you awake."

I only stared fearfully and backed up in the small space of my cage when he came near. His smile only widened and he began to walk around my cage causes me to scoot to the middle while watching him warily.

"I got plans for you little bird. Big, wonderful plans. You see, you may not realise it yet but you are very powerful, or you will be when you come of age... And I am going to take full advantage of that. Soon little bird, you will be mine."

My eyes widened when I realized what he meant. "No," I whisper despairingly.

"Oh yes little bird. Oh yes," Were his parting words as he reclimbed the stairs.I turned to Eegren when he let out a growl.

"Don't worry Sue," came his soft voice," I'm gonna get us out."
(End of flashback)

That had been three days ago. Mayhem hadn't returned since then. Eegren seemed to glow brighter each day and now it was to the point that I felt that I needed some sunglasses.
He had explained to me that around this time Mayhem seemed to disappear for awhile and that this was our chance to escape. When he gained enough energy, he had said, he was going to shoot an energy ball at the wall that would break his cage and give us a way out.

Today seemed to be the day as Eegren seemed to become more restless by the second.

"Okay Sue," he turned to me," I need you to grab whatever you can to shield yourself."

I quickly grabbed the mat that had been left in here for me to sleep on and covered myself  at the end of the cage furthest away from the wall.

"Cover your eyes." I did as he said wordlessly.

"Okay. One the count of three I'm gonna release the energy I've gained and blow out a hole in the wall. Ready?"

"Ready," I say. I'm so ready to get out of here.

"One"

"Two"

There was no three.

A/N

Hey look over there.
*Sees pitchforks and torches*
I'm gonna go
*Screaming* Don't spear me!

Anywho- really though, don't spear me.
