"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Cami" My Dad and Mom entered the room singing Happy birthday to me. My mom held a blueberry cheesecake, my favorite, in her hand, while my dad held balloons in one hand and party hat in other. He dropped the party hat on my head and kissed my head, whispering a silent Happy birthday to my ear.
I smiled at them as they both settled on either side of me, engulfing me in a group family hug while the cake is set in front of me.
"Make a wish and blow the candles, baby." Mom always makes me wish for something at the midnight and Dad always bought me anything I wished for. I smiled and closed my eyes, sending a little prayer to the God above.
I wish someone would love me the way Dad loves Mom
After blowing the candles, I used the small knife they kept near the cake and cut a small piece from the cake. After giving it to Dad and Mom and receiving a kiss and hug from each of them.
"What did you wish for, little warrior." Dad asked.
"Just to always make you both proud." It has been my answer for the past 6 years. Since that year.
"We'll always be proud of you, baby." My mom hugged me. My Dad nodded and engulfed us both in a bear hug.
"Now, sleep tight. It's going to be a long day tomorrow." My mom said as they both gave me a goodnight kiss and trudged out of my room.
All of my Mom's friends are going to be coming here tomorrow. We always have the tradition of visiting each other during holidays and birthdays. But it's been more than year since we all got together. Last year's March is when we all got together for Dalhia's birthday and it's October of the next year. After that, one or the other have always been busy and the tradition had been broken. But not tomorrow.
Tomorrow they all are coming to Eldorra. For my Birthday. I'm really happy to meet Sofia and Dalhia. They are the only girlfriends I have and I share everything with them. Even though we have been talking to other through texts and calls, it hasn't been the same. I miss them sometimes.
And Jeremy and Niko, well, I miss them too. I am not as close to them as Dalhia or Sofia but they have always been there for me whenever I needed them.
I'm so ready for tomorrow.
